More than 260 vehicles have been spotted so far, spanning supercars, dirt bikes, airboats, police units, and trains.

Vice City runs on wheels, and Rockstar has already shown a lot of them. Between the two trailers, the batch of official screenshots, and the extended gameplay look, the shape of the Grand Theft Auto VI garage is clear: a mix of familiar models carried over from GTA 5 and GTA Online, a wave of brand-new designs built for Leonida, and vehicle types the series has never had before.

Quick answer: More than 260 vehicles have been identified so far across cars, motorcycles, boats, planes, helicopters, emergency units, and trains. Ten of them are tied to the Ultimate Edition and pre-orders, and the rest appear in traffic, missions, and background shots on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Vehicles shown in the extended gameplay look

The extended gameplay video is the densest single source of vehicle footage so far. Most of what appears on screen is never named, so the safest way to catalogue it is by type and by the scene it shows up in. Traffic density is high throughout, parked cars vary block to block, and interiors are modeled in detail — the classic convertible’s bench seats and chrome dash are visible while it’s being driven.

How vehicles work in GTA 6

Stealing off the street still works, but it is no longer the only option. Dealerships and showrooms are scattered across the map, and both first-person and third-person driving cameras return with far heavier rendering behind them — ray-traced lighting, better reflections, and denser smoke, dust, and debris effects.

Two changes matter more than the visuals. Weapons can be stashed in vehicle trunks, which ties directly into the tighter carry limit of two rifles and two handguns. And customization returns in a bigger form, with an in-game tuning ecosystem referred to as Ride Out Customs.

Public transport is fully interactive too. The Metromule statewide rail system, an urban metro network, and a diesel locomotive can all be boarded and ridden without a loading screen, and a new minivan-based taxi type circulates in city traffic.

Ultimate Edition and pre-order vehicles

These are the only vehicles currently locked behind an edition or a pre-order. Nine come with the Ultimate Edition; the Stanier ’55 is the pre-order bonus.

Returning cars from GTA 5 and GTA Online

The bulk of the confirmed roster is made up of familiar nameplates, most of them redone with new bodywork, wheels, and interiors. Grouped by class, here is what has turned up in official footage and screenshots so far.

New GTA 6 cars making their debut

Plenty of new models have appeared without an on-screen name. Where a name has been confirmed, it’s listed below; where it hasn’t, the real-world inspiration is the only reliable way to identify the car right now.

Motorcycles and bikes

Two-wheelers get more screen time than usual, and dirt bike racing shows up as a side activity. Returning bikes include the Avarus, Carbon RS, Double T, Faggio, Manchez, Sanchez, and the Zombie Chopper. The Alvino V1 is the headline new sports bike, and a mobility scooter and pedal bikes — BMX, Cruiser, Scorcher, plus a LomBike — round out the smaller stuff.

Boats, airboats, and watercraft

Water gets the biggest expansion of any category, which makes sense for a state built around coastline, keys, and wetlands. Airboats are a genuinely new vehicle type designed for the shallow swamps, with an Airboat 09 model and a POACH-marked variant both confirmed.

  • Returning: Dinghy, Marquis, Reefer, Seashark, Squalo
  • New named craft: Airboat 09, Clarion, Crest Kayak, Lure Predator, S23, the BTN Delmar
  • Larger vessels: cruise ship, offshore supply ship, self-propelled barge, shrimp boat, dive boat, fishing boat, and several yacht classes

Planes and helicopters

The air fleet is smaller and mostly familiar. Confirmed aircraft include the Dodo, Duster, Mammatus, Nimbus, Shamal, and a generic jet, alongside the Buzzard Attack Chopper, Maverick, Police Maverick, Sea Sparrow, SuperVolito, and Swift. A Weazel News helicopter and a tethered radar aerostat are new additions to the skyline.

Police and emergency vehicles

Law enforcement fields a wider spread of hardware than the Crown Victoria-style cruiser most players expect. Confirmed units include the Buffalo STX Pursuit, the Gauntlet Interceptor, Vapid police cruisers and SUVs, unmarked SUVs, a Bison police truck, the Brute Police Riot van, a Sheriff SUV, and a Police Maverick for air support. Coastal and beach patrols get their own kit too, including a lifeguard ATV, a lifeguard pickup, a police boat, and a coast guard boat.

Trains and public transit

Rail is a real transport option rather than set dressing. A statewide rail service, an urban metro system, a diesel locomotive with passenger cars, city buses, and taxis all operate on their own routes, and the freight train returns as well.

Expect the count to keep climbing between now and launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not published a final vehicle roster, and a large share of what’s been shown is still unnamed on screen, so treat real-world inspirations as identification rather than confirmation. What is already settled is the scope: cars for every class, bikes for road and dirt, boats built specifically for swamp water, and a transit network you can actually ride.
