Haldor is the dvergr trader who sets up in the Black Forest. He starts with a fixed set of goods, then adds more lines as bosses fall in your world. If you want to know when the Egg appears or how to buy the inventory rows, the answer comes down to which boss you have beaten.

Quick answer: Haldor sells six lines from the start. The Elder adds Ymir Flesh and Thunder Stone, Moder adds Wider Pockets, Yagluth adds the Egg, and The Queen adds Deeper Pockets.

Find Haldor’s camp in the Black Forest

Haldor only appears in the Black Forest, set back from the biome edge. A world reserves up to 10 possible sites, each at least 512 meters apart. When you get close, a bag icon shows on the minimap and remains on the map afterward, so you can find your way back.

Have Coins ready; the prices are in Coins. The camp fire applies the Fire status, making it a warm spot. Building is blocked within 12 meters of the camp.

Open the store and buy an item

Stand in front of Haldor and aim at him so the prompt reads “Haldor [E] Talk.” Press the Talk key to open the panel titled STORE on the left of the screen.
Browse the list of goods as it scrolls. Hover over an entry to read what the item is. Entries such as Barrel Hoops display a bundle quantity, with the listed price covering the entire bundle.

Everything Haldor sells and the boss behind each line

With The Elder, Moder and Yagluth all beaten, the shelf holds 10 lines. Beating The Queen adds an eleventh. Here is the full stock, the coins each line costs, how many you get per purchase, and what unlocks it.

A few of these are worth knowing in detail. The Megingjord is a belt. The Dverger Circlet is a head lamp. Ymir Flesh feeds into Frostner and the Iron Sledge, and Thunder Stone is what you need to build the Obliterator. Barrel Hoops build the Barrel.

Keep an Egg warm to hatch it. Eggs are also used to make Cooked Egg, Mushroom Omelette, Pancakes and Unbaked Sweetbread. You can find one somewhere other than Haldor: a chest at the Sealed Tower in the Plains may contain an Egg.

How Haldor’s list grows with each boss

Unlocks are tied to the world rather than an individual character. A boss counts once it has been defeated in that world.

  • Before any boss: 6 lines.
  • After The Elder: 8 lines. Ymir Flesh and Thunder Stone appear together, in one step.
  • After Moder: Wider Pockets added.
  • After Yagluth: the Egg added, bringing the total to 10 lines.
  • With The Queen: Deeper Pockets added, the count becomes 11 lines.

Bonemass adds nothing at Haldor, so beating the Swamp boss leaves his shelf unchanged.

Wider Pockets and Deeper Pockets: two extra inventory rows

Wider Pockets and Deeper Pockets are not items you carry. Each one is a one-time unlock that adds a single row to your inventory. That is why their tooltips show no weight line: they are unlocks, not objects that sit in the inventory. The base inventory has 4 rows, and buying both pockets takes you to 6.

Wider Pockets costs 1,000 coins and appears only after Moder, the Mountain boss, has died. It will not be on the shelf on a first visit.

Deeper Pockets costs 2,000 coins and shows up only after The Queen is defeated. Both unlocks stay with the character once bought.

What it all costs

  • The two pocket upgrades together cost 3,000 coins and add 2 inventory rows.
  • Getting Megingjord along with the two pocket upgrades costs 3,950 coins.
  • One of every line, pockets included: 6,800 coins.

If a line you expect is missing, check the boss behind it rather than searching for another camp. Haldor’s stock is fixed by world progress, so beating the right boss unlocks Wider Pockets, Deeper Pockets, the Egg, Ymir Flesh or Thunder Stone.
