Halloween: The Game – Both Prologue Loomis Log Locations

Where Loomis Log #2 and Loomis Log #4 sit in Smith’s Grove, and the exact moment they become unreachable.

The Prologue of Halloween: The Game, Escape From Smith’s Grove, holds two Loomis Logs. They are cassette recordings that fill in Michael Myers’ backstory, and both sit slightly off the main escape route, so following the objective marker in a straight line will walk you past them.

Quick answer: Grab Loomis Log #2 in the courtyard corner across from the doorway at the very start, then grab Loomis Log #4 inside the bus stop shelter down the street from the power box. Both must be collected before you pry open the gate.

Each log is worth 1,000 XP, and the counter tags them as the first and second collectibles out of 14. The numbering in the log names is not sequential with the pickup order, so #2 and #4 are correct for the Prologue even though they are the first two you will find.

Loomis Log #2 location: sanatorium courtyard

The Prologue opens with Michael stepping out of the fenced courtyard after the fence has come down, with patients and orderlies scattered across the grounds. Ignore the path ahead for a moment.
Turn around and walk back into the yard you just left. The log is in the far corner opposite the doorway, in the pool of light thrown by a lamppost.

Look for the benches and the trash can beneath the lamppost. The tape is resting on top of the trash can, at roughly chest height.
Walk up to it and use the Retrieve Collectible interaction. On PC that is the E key.

Loomis Log #4 location: bus stop shelter

Keep playing until you reach the bottom of the hill and the game gives you the objective to switch off the power box. The second log does not appear before that point.

Face the diamond marker over the power box, then turn left and walk down the street instead of interacting with the box.
Continue along the wet road until the bus stop shelter comes into view on the side of the street. It is easy to miss in the dark.
Step inside the shelter and check the trash can. The tape is sitting on the lid. Interact with it to add Loomis Log #4 to your collection.

How to confirm both logs are collected

A successful pickup shows a “Picked Up Loomis Log” banner naming the exact tape, along with a +1000 XP notification. The collectible counter on screen also ticks over, reading 1/14 after the courtyard tape and 2/14 after the bus stop tape.

For a permanent record, open the Graveyard section from the main menu once the chapter is over. Every log you have picked up is listed there and can be played back.

The point of no return in the Prologue

Both areas stay open right up until you cut the power to the gate and pry it open. That single action closes off the sanatorium grounds and the street behind you, and there is no way to backtrack for a missed tape.

The only realistic ways to lose these two are walking straight ahead at the opening instead of turning back into the yard, and hitting the power box the moment its marker appears rather than checking the street to the left first.

If you do escape without them, the Prologue can be replayed from the chapter select, so a clean-up run is the fallback rather than a lost save.
