Terminals are the lore collectibles hidden across Halo: Campaign Evolved. They look like small computer consoles with a screen and a red light, and each one sits slightly off the main path in its mission. Walk up to a Terminal and hold the interact button to register it, then read the log later from the Collectibles menu.
Quick answer: There are 13 Terminals, one per mission across the 10 campaign levels and the 3 Operation Meteorite bonus missions. Register all 13 to unlock the Lore Have Mercy achievement.

All 13 Terminals at a reference
Each mission holds exactly one Terminal. The table lists the mission, the log name each Terminal unlocks, and a short pointer to where it sits.
| Mission | Terminal (log) | Where it is |
|---|---|---|
| The Pillar of Autumn | Approach | Left side room past the window above the cryo bay |
| Halo | Forgotten | Ledge below a wall gap in the underground tunnel |
| The Truth and Reconciliation | Inquisitor | Inside a holding cell, not the one holding Keyes |
| The Silent Cartographer | Status Update | Behind a low wall past the security override panel |
| Assault on the Control Room | Tangent I | Balcony inside the large Forerunner structure |
| 343 Guilty Spark | Tangent II | Off the light bridge, first right during the escape |
| The Library | Tangent III | Through the left door, behind Flood spores |
| Two Betrayals | Alone | Back of the Control Room platform at mission start |
| Keyes | Consumed | Side room in the shuttle bay corridors |
| The Maw | Arrival | Right-hand wall of the mess hall area |
| Boarding Action | The Path | Back-right door of the grav lift room |
| The Most Dangerous Game | Penitent Report | Room opposite the viewing windows, on a platform |
| Heavy Burden | Harmonious Clarity | Left side of the back armory room, behind pods |

The Pillar of Autumn (Approach): Play until you reach the viewing window above the room where you were thawed from cryo. Go through the door and immediately turn left into the small control room instead of continuing forward. The Terminal is at the back.

Halo (Forgotten): After saving the Marines and grabbing the Warthog, enter the underground tunnel. On the way down the ramp before the first large room, look for a gap in the wall on your right. Leave the vehicle, drop to the ledge below, and the Terminal is behind you.

The Truth and Reconciliation (Inquisitor): Board the Covenant ship and clear the grav lift room. You reach an area with several doors leading to holding cells. Keyes is in the cell opposite, but take the door to your right instead, activate the holographic panel, and find the Terminal in one of the cells.

The Silent Cartographer (Status Update): When you are told to shut down the security systems, follow the marker under the structure and defeat the two Hunters. Before using the holo panel to progress, walk past it. The Terminal is tucked behind a low wall at the end of the walkway.

Assault on the Control Room (Tangent I): With the Scorpion tank, push through the ice tunnel to the open area where a dropship deploys a Ghost. Enter the large central Forerunner structure through its green door, clear the Grunts and Elites, then take the steep ramp up and turn right. The Terminal waits on the balcony.

343 Guilty Spark (Tangent II): After your first Flood encounter and the marine helmet recording, the Escape checkpoint begins. When you cannot use the lift, turn back across the light bridge, turn left, then take the first right instead of going straight. The Terminal is against the back wall in the corridor with dead bodies.

The Library (Tangent III): Push past the second horde defense checkpoint where the Monitor opens a door. You reach two panels that open doors on the left and right. Open the left door, cross the room to the small entrance covered in Flood spores on the left wall, crawl through, and the Terminal is inside next to a dead Marine.

Two Betrayals (Alone): This is the easiest of the set and needs no progress at all. From the large holographic globe at the mission start, walk around either side path to the back of the floating Control Room platform. The Terminal is there.

Keyes (Consumed): Continue to the “Ascend to the upper deck” checkpoint. As it triggers, you enter the shuttle bay. Head through the first door on your left, where Covenant forces spawn, follow the purple corridors, and take the right turn before the end near the bodies on the floor. The Terminal is on your left.

The Maw (Arrival): Early in the mission, work through the Pillar of Autumn to the former mess hall, marked by a fire at the back of the room. Before you reach the fire, the Terminal is pressed against the right-hand wall in an alcove.

Operation Meteorite bonus mission Terminals
The three prequel bonus missions follow Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson behind enemy lines. Each one carries a single Terminal.
Boarding Action (The Path): Ride the grav lift up to the circular room. Facing the objective door, turn around and go through the door in the back-right corner. The Terminal is against the wall on the other side of that room.

The Most Dangerous Game (Penitent Report): While rescuing UNSC survivors with Williams, you reach a room lined with viewing windows along the left wall and rows of purple shipping pods. The door directly opposite the windows leads to the Terminal, which sits on a raised platform.

Heavy Burden (Harmonious Clarity): After the bridge cutscene where you download the data and take control, drop to the ground floor. Head out the green doors at the back to the armory, then push through the further doors to the final room. The Terminal is on the left, behind some pods.

How to confirm a Terminal and read its log
When you interact with a Terminal, an on-screen banner reads “UNLOCKED TERMINAL” followed by the log name, such as “APPROACH” or “FORGOTTEN”. That banner is your confirmation that it registered for the mission. The logs are text-only, in keeping with the original Halo 3 style rather than animated video.
To read what you collected, return to the main menu and open the Collectibles option. Every registered Terminal log appears there, including 343 Guilty Spark’s records of his time on Alpha Halo and his attempts to reach 2401 Penitent Tangent. Once all 13 are logged, the Lore Have Mercy achievement pops. If it does not, a mission you thought was cleared is still missing its Terminal, so check the Collectibles list to see which log is blank and revisit that level.
