Haze Seas: How to Unlock Sea 2 With the Poneglyph Scroll

Sea 2 is the second progression world in Haze Seas, built for characters climbing from Level 2200 up to Level 3900. It packs tougher mobs and bosses than the First Sea, and entry is gated behind a single quest from the Dimensional Sailor that asks you to recover a Poneglyph Scroll.

Quick answer: Reach Level 2200, accept the Dimensional Sailor’s quest on Starter Island, grab the Poneglyph Scroll from the cave in the central Rocky Pillar, return it to the Dimensional Sailor, then talk to him again to teleport to Sea 2.

Requirement: Reach Level 2200 first

The only prerequisite for starting the Sea 2 quest is hitting Level 2200. Below that, the Dimensional Sailor refuses to talk to you and tells you to become stronger before returning.

To grind there quickly, defeat enemies and clear quests while equipping a strong Devil Fruit such as Phoenix or Dragon, or use a weapon like Shusui to kill mobs fast and bank EXP.

Unlock Sea 2 step by step

Once you are Level 2200 or higher, head to the docks on Sea 1 Starter Island and find the Dimensional Sailor. Press E to interact, then choose “Yes” to accept his request to find a Poneglyph Scroll.

Leave the Starter Island docks and sail to your left, toward the cluster of tall, dark pillar structures in the ocean. Make your way to the central pillar.

Air jump up the central pillar and slip into the small gap or cave in the middle. Movement abilities from fruits like Light, Dragon, or Phoenix make the climb faster.

Entering the cave triggers a cutscene where the Red Emperor examines the Poneglyph. He remarks that “these stones hold truths only the worthy can claim” and challenges you to fight in Sea 2. There is no battle inside the cave, and he disappears into the Poneglyph once the scene ends.

After the cutscene, walk up to the Poneglyph and hold E to collect the Poneglyph Scroll.

Sail back to the Dimensional Sailor on Starter Island and give him the scroll. Interact with him one more time to teleport straight into Sea 2.

How to confirm Sea 2 is unlocked

You know it worked when the final interaction with the Dimensional Sailor teleports your character into Sea 2, starting at Flower Capital. If the NPC still turns you away, you are below Level 2200, which is the most common reason the quest never begins. Make sure you actually held E on the Poneglyph long enough to add the scroll to your inventory before returning; otherwise the Sailor has nothing to accept.

Sea 2 islands and recommended levels

Sea 2 contains 11 islands that scale from Level 2200 through Level 3900. Use the table below to plan your route as you level up.

While working through these islands, pick up the Enma and Zenith swords. Both are later required to unlock the 3 Sword Style, so grabbing them during your Sea 2 run saves a backtrack. From there, keep pushing toward Winter Island to top out the world before the next progression tier opens up.
