Haze Seas Swords Guide: Every Blade Across Sea 1, 2, and 3

Every sword's exact source, drop rate, and crafting cost, plus which ones to grind to 300 Mastery before moving on.

Every sword’s exact source, drop rate, and crafting cost, plus which ones to grind to 300 Mastery before moving on.

Swords are one of three damage systems in Haze Seas, and each blade unlocks its moves as you raise Sword Mastery. Some early weapons feed directly into V2 upgrades and Sea 3 crafting recipes, so a few cheap Sea 1 buys are worth keeping long after you outgrow them.

Quick answer: Buy the Katana on Starter Island, then farm bosses through Sea 1 and Sea 2 for drops like Shusui, Enma, and Zenith. Push Zenith, Shusui, and Enma to 300 Mastery to craft 3SS V1, and craft the strongest blades (Dual Dark Blade, 3SS V2) at Doran the Forge in Sea 3.

How Sword Mastery and V2 upgrades work

Every sword starts with a Z move and gains its X (and sometimes C) move as Mastery rises. Purchased blades like the Katana open their kit almost immediately, while boss drops and crafted weapons unlock moves at higher Mastery thresholds. Several base swords carry a stronger V2 form that you can only build later, so raising Mastery on the V1 first is often a requirement rather than an option.

One rule applies to every Super Boss drop. If you fight in a party, you must deal damage equal to at least 20% of the boss’s total HP to qualify for its rewards.

Sea 1 swords: shop buys and early boss drops

Sea 1 covers everything from the first Starter Island purchase to mid-game boss drops. A handful of these blades also gain V2 forms in later seas, so it pays to know which base versions to hold.

Sea 2 swords: high-power drops and boss events

Sea 2 introduces the swords that carry you into endgame. Zenith, Shusui, and Enma are all required to craft 3SS V1, so grinding them to 300 Mastery here saves time later.

SwordHow to get it
ZenithGuaranteed drop from the Zenith Boss during the Shadow Island storm event, which appears roughly every 2 hours and 35 minutes.
Enma10% drop from the Enma Boss at Flower Capital.
Three Sword Style V1 (3SS)Own Zenith, Shusui, and Enma, reach 300 Mastery on all three, then interact with the Rock Shrine at the Land of Gods.
Mace V21% drop from the Mace V2 Boss on Dragon Island (requires Mace V1).
Dough Trident10% drop from the Dough Boss in Mirror World.
Dark Blade V2Sacrifice a Legendary or higher Fruit to Nikk0lapz in Foggy Castle, defeat the 3SS Boss or Enma, pay 50 Gems to summon the Dark Blade Boss (available every two hours), then defeat it.
Seabeast Hammer V21% drop from White Sea Beasts found in Sea 2.

Note: Dark Blade V2 is the standout here. It offers top-tier DPS and attack speed without the full Sea 3 crafting investment, and it’s the base for the strongest blade in the game.

Which swords to prioritize

A few blades pull ahead across both boss fights and PvP. If you’re deciding where to spend your grind, these are the ones worth chasing.

SwordWhy it earns the grind
Dual Dark BladeThe strongest endgame sword, with heavy DPS in both PvE and PvP. Also the most resource-intensive to craft.
Dark Blade V2The best all-around option through mid and late game, with excellent DPS and attack speed and no Sea 3 crafting needed.
Three Sword Style V2Second-strongest overall, delivering strong burst that clears endgame content, and easier to reach than Dual Dark Blade.
ZenithGuaranteed from the Zenith Boss, making it far easier to secure than most swords at its power level. A solid stopping point before Sea 3.
GryphonOne of the best PvP swords, with a three-move kit built for pressure and combos, and useful range coverage in PvE.

Common questions

Where do you buy the first sword?

The Katana is the first purchasable sword, sold at the weapon shop on Starter Island. It comes with Sword Draw at Mastery 0 and Air Slash at Mastery 25, making it the default starting weapon.

Which Sea 2 sword should you target first?

Zenith is the best early Sea 2 goal since it’s a guaranteed Zenith Boss drop and one of the three swords needed to craft 3SS V1. Enma comes next at a 10% drop rate, then 3SS V1 itself.

What is the easiest endgame sword to get?

Gryphon is among the more accessible endgame blades, dropping from the Red Emperor at 5%. That’s far friendlier than Ace at 0.1% or Dual Dark Blade’s crafting recipe, and it still holds up in PvP.

Sea 3 remains the ceiling for sword power, so the smart path is to bank the base weapons early, raise Mastery on Zenith, Shusui, Enma, and Dark Blade V2, then farm Ancient Blade Relics and Abyssal Eyes for the forge. Once more content arrives, expect the crafting list to grow, but the current top blades will still start from the same Sea 1 and Sea 2 foundations you build now.
