Hellraiser: Revival – How to Get the Van Key and Open the Van

The sewer route, both generator switches, and the armored enemy standing between Aidan and the locked vehicle.

After the Cenobites send Aidan out through the sewers in Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, you reach a van parked outside. The vehicle and everything inside it stay locked until you track down the key, and that key is not sitting anywhere near the van. You have to go back underground to find it.

Quick answer: Find the van key on the ground by the feet of a sitting corpse, close to an exit door far inside the sewers. Enter through sewer door two, get across the electrified room by following the pipes, activate generator one twice and generator two once, then take down the armored enemy.

Head back into the sewers from the van

Turn away from the locked van and look for the other door that leads back down into the sewers. The route to the key runs farther along this underground path, not around the vehicle itself.

The corridors here are narrow and packed with undead enemies. There is little space to dodge, so deal with threats before they close in. Use your ability to throw objects at them to save bullets for the harder fights ahead.

The main path is mostly linear, but small side rooms branch off it. These hold coins and crafting materials, plus a locker you can open with a lockpick. Grab what you want, then push on until you hit a room with loose electrical wires covering the floor.

Cross the electrified room and use the first generator

Stepping on the live wires kills Aidan almost instantly, so do not run across the floor. A pair of pipes lets you skirt the hazard and reach the generator safely.

From the room entrance, look to the right side and find the large pipe. Crawl inside it and follow it through.
When you come out, turn left and enter the shorter pipe. Follow it to the far end to reach the generator.
Flip the generator switch. This cuts the current in your room and sends it into the neighboring room instead, so the floor you are standing on becomes safe.

Enemies start pushing in from the next room right after you throw the switch. Stay on the safe ground and let them walk onto the now-electrified floor. Any undead that steps into the current dies on contact, which saves your ammo for the armored enemy later.

Once the undead are dead, flip the generator switch a second time to reverse the current and clear your path forward.

Find the second generator switch

Follow the sewer corridors to a later room occupied by several undead. Take them out, then go right and enter through the doorway.

Once inside, turn back toward the entrance. A second generator switch is mounted beside it, so look there before continuing forward. Flip the switch, then drop to the lower area, where a heavily armored enemy waits in a room.

Kill the armored enemy and grab the van key

The armored enemy soaks up far more punishment than the regular undead from the corridors. Keep your distance so you can react to its attacks, and do not waste shots. Mix in your firearms and throwable objects to wear it down. The fight is in a tight space, so watch your positioning and avoid getting pinned against a wall.

Once it is dead, look at the exit door. A corpse is sitting beside the doorway, and the van key is on the floor right next to the corpse’s foot. Look down near the body and pick it up. There is no extra puzzle attached to it.

Open the van door

After taking the key, unlock the exit nearby and travel through the sewer passage toward the van. Interact with its door, and Aidan will use the key to unlock it and advance the story. The door opening confirms that you found the right key and followed the correct route.

Getting the van open only ends this sewer stretch. Harder enemies wait on the other side, so top up your ammo, healing items, and crafting supplies before you press on.
