What you need before you start

To play The Herbalist, you must have access to the Haven Island location. Owners who already have that map can jump straight in. New players can reach the mission through the Free Demo. You can confirm access and find current live content on the official Hitman site.

The target and the setup

Dr. Cyrus Cane is an entrepreneur behind Morsizzles, a cookie product preparing for a worldwide launch. The snack is generating heavy buzz across social media and investment circles, but an investigation has tied the product to cover-ups linked to deaths during internal testing. To fulfil the contract, Cane must be removed as the face of Morsizzles and the product must disappear.

Cane hosts a lavish pre-launch celebration at his home on Haven Island, with food industry insiders, investors, and influencers on the guest list. That crowd gives Agent 47 room to blend in and line up an approach. The mission is a brand-new character and storyline built for the island, marking Snoop Dogg’s debut in the series, with the rapper providing both his likeness and voice.

Note: Snoop Dogg’s son, Cordell C. Broadus, also appears in the mission with his own likeness and voice work. He shows up as a guest enjoying the party, so both father and son can be found on Haven Island together.

How Elusive Targets work

Elusive Targets are temporary missions that place a specific guest character on an existing map for a set period. The key rule is that you get one attempt. If you fail the contract or die, you lose access to that target and cannot retry it during the live window.

You know the job is done when Cane is eliminated and Agent 47 reaches an exit, which registers the contract as completed. Because there are no second chances, scout the party, secure a disguise, and confirm your escape route before committing to the kill.

The Herbalist Pack (paid, permanent access)

If you want to keep the content after the free window closes, The Herbalist Pack is a paid DLC priced at $7.99 / €7.99 / £6.99. It launches August 27 on all platforms, with Nintendo Switch 2 availability following on September 4. The pack adds permanent replayable content plus themed cosmetics and equipment.

Season of the Herbalist extras

Alongside the target, a new roadmap called Season of the Herbalist brings free live content for all owners. It includes two new challenges, fresh Featured Contracts batches, new and returning Twitch Drops, IOI Account Rewards, and the return of Elusive Targets such as The Undying Returns.

  • “Bloom Where You Are Planted” returns you to Ambrose Island to help a student succeed and earns a silenced pistol.
  • “Fortune Favors the Bald” sends Agent 47 to the GAMA Private Hospital in Hokkaido.
  • The Purple Streak Proximity Explosive, a violet modular device detonated by proximity, is offered as a Twitch Drop.
  • Green Grapes, a Twitch Drop item that causes anyone stepping on them to slip and fall.

With a hard September 26 cutoff and only one shot at the kill, the safest plan is to load Haven Island early, learn the party layout, and finish Cane while the mission is still free. Anyone who wants to revisit the setup later can fall back on The Herbalist Pack for permanent access.
