Honkai Star Rail 4.6: Evanescia’s Best Team With Pearl (E0 vs E2)

How the Evanescia, Yao Guang, Pearl and Elation Trailblazer lineup holds up, and what E2 Pearl actually changes.

How the Evanescia, Yao Guang, Pearl and Elation Trailblazer lineup holds up, and what E2 Pearl actually changes.

Pearl’s arrival in Honkai: Star Rail 4.6 gives the Elation core something it never had before, a sustain unit that lives inside the same system as the damage dealers. Dropping her into the established Evanescia, Yao Guang and Elation Trailblazer shell produces a four-unit team where every member feeds Certified Banger back into Evanescia, and Memory of Chaos runs with the lineup show it clearing bosses like Borisin Warhead: Hoolay and Paramount Bliss Inverted: Illwish Archlotus inside a handful of cycles.

Quick answer: Run Evanescia as the main DPS with Yao Guang, the Elation Trailblazer and Pearl in the sustain slot. Pearl’s V3 kit adds extra healing and a team-wide 50% Effect RES buff, and E2 mainly compresses the rotation through added speed and energy rather than unlocking a new mechanic.

The four slots and what each unit contributes

Evanescia is a 5-star Physical damage dealer on the Path of Elation whose whole kit revolves around one loop. Her Talent converts 20% of her CRIT DMG into Elation, and Certified Banger and Energy convert into each other one-for-one, capped at 100 per source. She carries 480 Max Energy with an Ultimate that fires at 240, and every 240 accumulated energy also triggers Master Fox, a follow-up attack that refunds 10 Energy and applies 12% Vulnerability for three turns.

Because energy is Banger, anything that feeds her energy is doing double duty. That is exactly why the other three slots look the way they do.

UnitRole in the team
EvanesciaPhysical Elation main DPS. Damage flows through repeated Ultimates amplified by banked Certified Banger, plus Master Fox follow-ups.
Yao GuangPremium Elation support. Supplies Elation, All-Type RES PEN through Hexagram of Feathered Fortune, and drives Aha Instant activations.
Trailblazer (Elation)Free Elation slot and Punchline generator. Grants CRIT DMG and triggers teammates’ Elation Skills.
PearlElation sustain. Healing plus a team-wide Effect RES buff, while still participating in Aha Instants.

The key point is that Pearl is not a neutral healer bolted onto an Elation team. She occupies an Elation slot, which means her Certified Banger gains and expiries are also feeding Evanescia through the Watch All Revels and Best All Blooms bonus abilities, which steal 50% of a lower-priority ally’s Banger gains and recycle 50% of expiring Banger respectively.

Pearl’s V3 changes: extra healing and 50% Effect RES

The third beta revision buffed Pearl in two directions. She gained additional healing, and she now grants the whole team 50% Effect RES. Several of her Eidolons were also adjusted in the same pass.

The Effect RES number matters more than it first looks. Evanescia’s damage depends on an uninterrupted turn order, and crowd control that pushes her turn back also breaks the Banger and energy chain feeding her Ultimate. A flat 50% team-wide Effect RES reduces how often that happens without spending a support slot on a cleanser.

Note: these are beta values. Numbers and Eidolon text can still shift before the character goes live, so treat the 50% figure as the current tuning rather than a locked release value.

E0 vs E2 Pearl: what the second Eidolon actually changes

Running the same Memory of Chaos side twice, once at E0 and once at E2, produces the same shape of clear with a tighter timeline. E2 Pearl adds team speed and energy regeneration, which translates into more actions per cycle, faster Aha Instant activations, and a higher damage total over the same fight.

At E0 the run still holds up. The first wave against Rocking Rebel and Decaying Shadow closes out on an Aha Instant for 1,717,950 damage, and Hoolay goes down at a Battle Over total of 22,425,064, with the Phase II transition triggered by a 1,319,376 damage Aha Instant at 25 stacks.

Swapping to E2 does not change how you pilot the team. You still open the same way, still stack Punchline the same way, and still finish waves on Swordsong: Absolution Denied. What changes is how quickly the stacks arrive.

How to pilot the rotation

Use Evanescia’s Technique, Petalfall: Floral Reminiscence, before entering the fight. It damages all enemies and hands her 20 Certified Banger before the first turn resolves, which is 20 free energy at the same time.
Open with Evanescia’s Ultimate slotted between the support Ultimates rather than after all of them. Firing Yao Guang and the Trailblazer back to back can overflow her energy past the cap, and buffs applied during her own turn do not tick down properly.
Use Yao Guang’s Hexagram of Feathered Fortune to apply All-Type RES PEN and push the Aha Instant. A single Aha turn can pay Certified Banger through several separate sources at once, and because the 100-point cap is per source, multi-source turns are not wasted.
Cash out with Swordsong: Absolution Denied when Master Fox is primed to chain into a follow-up. The Ultimate always counts at least 480 Banger, which is a 4.33x amp, and pushing to 1000 Banger only reaches roughly 5.03x, so distorting the rotation to bank more is rarely worth the lost turns.

Play this team manually. The auto battle AI does not prioritise Evanescia’s Ultimate when she is sitting at full energy, so support Ultimates that overfill her end up burning energy she never spends.

Why more SPD on Evanescia backfires

AHA, the Elation entity that resolves Aha Instants, takes its speed from the team’s fastest unit. Evanescia needs to stay below AHA’s SPD, otherwise she acts ahead of it and loses Certified Banger uptime. With a roughly 200 SPD Yao Guang and a 160 SPD Elation Trailblazer, AHA lands near 142 SPD, putting Evanescia’s practical ceiling around 142.7.

This is the one stat where the usual instinct is wrong. Once she is past that threshold, extra speed is a net loss, not a small gain. Her other stat targets are far more conventional, around 70% CRIT Rate pre-combat and 200% or more CRIT DMG, climbing to the 250 to 270% range when she is running her signature Light Cone.

Evanescia sits at 162.6 SPD in the run with CRIT DMG in the 240 to 250% band, Yao Guang runs at 200.9 SPD with 65.8% CRIT Rate and 153.6% CRIT DMG, and the Trailblazer sits at 172.6 SPD. Her signature, Until the Flowers Bloom Again, is a clear best-in-slot because its 60% CRIT DMG double-dips through the 20% Elation conversion, and its Energy Regen scaling is worth roughly 22% extra ER at her 480 Max Energy ceiling. Today’s Good Luck from the Battle Pass at S5 covers about 90% of that gap, and Mushy Shroomy’s Adventures at S5 is the strongest free option.

If you do not pull Pearl

Huohuo remains the default sustain for this shell. Her Energy Restoration feeds the Banger loop directly, and without an energy-donating healer the team’s total Ultimate count over a rotation drops sharply. Permansor Terrae and Hyacine also work as sustain replacements, and on the support side Sparkle, Sunday, Bronya or Tribbie can fill the flex slot if Yao Guang is missing, though none of them replicate her Elation contribution.

One limitation carries over regardless of who fills the fourth slot. Evanescia does not implant Physical Weakness, so enemies with high Physical RES still resist her, and RES PEN from Yao Guang or her own E1 is the lever that solves it.

For most accounts the takeaway is straightforward. Pearl’s V3 tuning makes her a genuine option for the sustain slot on an Elation team rather than a niche pick, and the E2 comparison shows the Eidolon buying speed and comfort rather than a different playstyle. If you already have Evanescia, Yao Guang and the Elation Trailblazer built, E0 Pearl is enough to run the team as intended.
