Imagined Words is the Pure Fiction cycle in Honkai: Star Rail 4.6. It runs from October 19 to November 30, 2026. Stage 4 sends Flame Reaver at your first team and Alloy Mechatron: King Pom-Pom at your second. Starward Mode adds a third fight against Argenti. Each boss has different weaknesses, so the main job is to bring the right element to each fight.
Quick answer: Bring Lightning or Ice to the first half, Imaginary or Fire to the second half, and Ice or Physical to Starward Mode. Use Toccata for follow-up teams, Mirthful Cadence for Elation teams, and Fugato for DoT teams.

Imagined Words weaknesses and score targets
Every fight has its own boss and its own pair of weak elements. The elements below match each boss, so a team that fits one fight will usually struggle in another.
| Fight | Boss | Weak elements |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 4, first half | Flame Reaver | Lightning, Ice |
| Stage 4, second half | Alloy Mechatron: King Pom-Pom | Imaginary, Fire |
| Starward Mode | Argenti | Physical, Ice |
To clear Stage 4, you need 45,000 points. The extra objectives ask for 60,000, 75,000, 90,000, and 99,000 points. Regular enemies keep coming back after you defeat them. Each one you defeat also hurts the boss and adds Grit Value. Beating the boss moves you on to the next wave.
Pure Fiction’s weekly reset happens Monday at 04:00 server time. Imagined Words resets on November 30, and stars you haven’t earned by that date are lost.

Add to Google Preferences →How Grit works in Imagined Words
Imagined Words rewards debuffs. Each time one of your characters puts a debuff on an enemy, your team gains 1 extra Grit Value. This works up to 10 times per enemy. When the Grit bar is full, you enter Surging Grit, and the cycle’s bonuses kick in.
- Concordant Truce: enemies lose 30% Effect RES. Enemies with 4 or more debuffs take 20% more damage.
- Entering Surging Grit: each enemy takes a set hit of damage once for every debuff on it.
- During Surging Grit: enemies take 50% more damage.
- Dejection: every new debuff adds a stack that cuts All-Type RES by 1% for 2 turns. It stacks up to 20 times.
In practice, teams that apply lots of debuffs fill the Grit bar faster and get more out of Surging Grit. That is why DoT teams, which spent a long time falling behind newer characters, become a real option here again.

Node buffs: Toccata vs. Mirthful Cadence vs. Fugato
You choose one of three buffs for each team. Your team’s playstyle decides the pick, not the boss.
| Buff | What it does | Pick it for |
|---|---|---|
| Toccata | Large follow-up and Ultimate damage boost | Follow-up and hypercarry teams |
| Mirthful Cadence | Elation Skills apply Indulgence | Elation teams |
| Fugato | Attacks trigger a DoT early during Surging Grit | DoT teams |
Toccata gets stronger during Surging Grit. Each Dejection stack on an enemy counts as two stacks of Toccata’s effect. Mirthful Cadence makes enemies hit by Indulgence take more damage for two turns. It also gives all allies 40 Punchlines while Surging Grit is active. Fugato only works during Surging Grit. In that window, each attack makes one DoT on the target deal its damage right away, with extra damage on top.
Best teams for the first half (Flame Reaver)
Lightning and Ice are Flame Reaver’s weaknesses. Ashveil, who uses Lightning, is the top choice; Kafka’s DoT team is a solid alternative.
| Team | Style | Buff |
|---|---|---|
| Ashveil, Mortenax Blade, Tribbie, Huohuo | Follow-up | Toccata |
| Aventurine • Waveflair, Ashveil, Mortenax Blade, Hyacine | Follow-up / Elation | Toccata |
| Ashveil, Mortenax Blade, Robin • Summeretto, Huohuo | Follow-up | Toccata |
| Castorice, Evernight, Robin • Summeretto, Hyacine | Remembrance | Toccata |
| Kafka, Hysilens, Black Swan, Huohuo | DoT | Fugato |
| Ashveil, Mortenax Blade, Robin, Huohuo | F2P-friendly | Toccata |
Ashveil and Mortenax Blade wipe out waves almost as soon as they spawn. In a mode built around clearing enemy after enemy, that speed matters more than anything else. Tribbie, Robin • Summeretto, or Waveflair can fill the third slot, depending on who you own. Original Robin also works if you don’t have the newer version.
Kafka’s triple DoT team fits this cycle well. Hysilens and Black Swan stack plenty of debuffs, which fills the Grit bar quickly. Fugato then makes those DoTs deal their damage on demand once Surging Grit starts. Both styles can earn full stars.
Flame Reaver summons Long-Shattered Vessels. Kill them first. If you don’t, the boss finishes charging a big attack that hits your whole team very hard.

Best teams for the second half (Alloy Mechatron: King Pom-Pom)
King Pom-Pom is weak to Imaginary and Fire. This boss is also built for Elation teams, so Silver Wolf LV.999 (Imaginary) and Himeko • Nova (Fire) are the two main options.
| Team | Style | Buff |
|---|---|---|
| Silver Wolf LV.999, Sparxie, Yao Guang, Pearl | Elation dual DPS | Mirthful Cadence |
| Sparxie, Sparkle, Yao Guang, Pearl | Elation | Mirthful Cadence |
| Himeko • Nova, Sunday, Sparkle, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae | Hypercarry | Toccata |
| Mydei, Cyrene, Cerydra, Luocha | Hypercarry | Toccata |
| Silver Wolf LV.999, Elation Trailblazer, Asta, Huohuo | F2P-friendly | Mirthful Cadence |
Silver Wolf LV.999 hits hard with every ability, so the waves never pile up on her. With Sparxie as a second damage dealer and Yao Guang and Pearl speeding up turns, this team clears the fight easily. Mirthful Cadence’s free Punchlines also help, because this fight runs on Punchline.
Himeko • Nova is the Fire option. She breaks the boss’s Toughness quickly and works well with Toccata.
Two enemy mechanics shape this fight. First, defeat the Juvenile Stings first. When they die, they explode and make nearby enemies take more damage. Second, King Pom-Pom has Lasting Antibac stacks that reduce the damage it takes. Build up enough Punchline and Alloy Pommy gets an Enhanced Basic ATK, which removes one stack. Once all the stacks are gone, the damage reduction goes away and the boss starts taking big hits.

Best teams for Starward Mode (Argenti)
Argenti is weak to Physical and Ice. Evanescia, a Physical character, is the strongest choice here.
| Team | Style | Buff |
|---|---|---|
| Evanescia, Yao Guang, Elation Trailblazer, Pearl | Elation hypercarry | Mirthful Cadence |
| The Herta, Robin • Summeretto, Tribbie, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae | AoE hypercarry | Toccata |
| Hysilens, Kafka, Black Swan, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae | DoT | Fugato |
| Himeko • Nova, Robin • Summeretto, Welt, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae | Hypercarry | Toccata |
| Himeko • Nova, Trailblazer (Ice), Welt, Huohuo | F2P-friendly | Toccata |
Evanescia attacks the boss over and over, and the rest of her Elation team keeps her Ultimates coming. Since it is an Elation team, use Mirthful Cadence.
The Herta is an Ice option that deals heavy damage to every enemy at once, so the waves are not a problem. Robin • Summeretto and Tribbie boost her damage, especially against Argenti himself. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae is the best fourth slot. Aventurine or any other sustain character works if you don’t have him.
Argenti’s summons give him buffs, including a shield and a damage boost. Kill them before you focus on Argenti himself.

Furbo Journalists and Punchline in every Imagined Words fight
Furbo Journalists appear in both halves and in Starward Mode. Defeat them as early as you can. They give you more Punchlines, and Punchlines power Aha’s Instant. This matters most for Elation teams, and it is the reason Mirthful Cadence pairs so well with those teams.
The lower stages follow the same pattern and can be cleared with the same F2P teams: Evanescia or Silver Wolf LV.999 with Elation Trailblazer, Asta, and Huohuo on Mirthful Cadence, plus Himeko • Nova with Trailblazer (Ice), Welt, and Huohuo on Toccata. If both of those teams are built, you can clear all of Imagined Words before it resets on November 30.
