Every Hood Rivals gun sorted into S through C tiers, with utility picks and the fastest unlock route.

Hood Rivals lives and dies on short gunfights. Rounds end fast, maps like Cargo, Apartments, Gulag, and Nightlife funnel you into predictable lanes, and the gun in slot one usually decides whether you win the first exchange or spend the round watching. The weapon pool covers full-auto rifles, drum-fed variants, SMGs, a bolt-action rifle, shotguns, a stack of pistols, and an RPG — and they are very much not equal once you leave the Gun Range.

Quick answer: Take the free PumpShotgun from the Armory safe, then spend 2,500$ on the ARP as your first paid unlock. That pair covers close and mid range and gives you a top-tier primary before you have grinded much level progression at all.

Hood Rivals weapon tier list (September 2026)

Tiers here follow the game’s own four bands — Best, Strong, Good, and Situational. Placement is judged on how a gun performs in real matches rather than on paper: consistent damage output, effective range, how forgiving it is after a missed opening shot, and whether it still works when you rotate from a 1v1 into a 3v3 or a Free For All.

TierWeaponsWhy they land here
S — BestASVAL, AR-DRUM, ARP, R700Carry a fight at their preferred range and stay useful in every mode
A — StrongAK74U, 223Rifle, ASYALD, Glock20Auto, PumpShotgunDependable picks that only lose ground in the wrong environment
B — GoodFNEXT, Roni, BabyARP, Deagle, 50CaliberFine in the right hands, but need positioning or accuracy to pay off
C — SituationalGlock, P320, Magnum, Sawedoff, RPGReward specific angles, chokepoints, or backup duty rather than general use

Why the S-tier guns sit at the top

The ASVAL and AR-DRUM are the safest primaries in the game because they never force you into a bad range. Both apply steady pressure across the medium distances that make up most of Cargo and War Town, and both let you keep firing when an opponent breaks toward cover instead of punishing you for the first miss.

The ARP earns its spot for a different reason. It is fast, it suits the aggressive push-and-strafe style that indoor maps like Apartments and Hotel reward, and it is cheap enough to buy early. The R700 is the outlier: a precision rifle that is genuinely dominant on open sightlines and genuinely helpless if someone closes the gap, which is why it belongs at the top only when you pair it with a close-range backup.

Paid bundles exist for several of these guns — R700 Prestige and AK Prestige at 749 Robux, the ASVALDRUM Bundle at 1,199, and the ARDrum Bundle at 1,499. None of the placements above assume you have bought any of them.

Best gun for each fight distance

A tier is not a recommendation on its own. Pick the weapon that matches where you actually take fights, then add a backup that answers its weakness.

RangePrimary pickBackup that covers it
Close / indoorsARP, PumpShotgunGlock20Auto for follow-ups
Mid / corridorsASVAL, AR-DRUM, AK74URoni or Deagle
Long / open lanesR700, 50CaliberARP or BabyARP for rushes
ChokepointsRPG, Incendiary223Rifle for anything outside the blast

Note: two weapons that fight for the same range is the most common loadout mistake. A Sawedoff paired with a PumpShotgun leaves you with nothing at all on a map like Velocity Station.

Utility ranking: Flashbang, Grenade, Incendiary, and MedKit

UtilityTierUse it for
FlashbangSEntering a room in 2v2 and 3v3 without trading
MedKitAResetting after you win the first fight of a round
GrenadeAFlushing players holding a corner or stairwell
IncendiaryBDenying a lane or blocking a rotation

The Flashbang tops this list purely because Hood Rivals rounds are decided by who takes the first clean shot. Everything else is recovery or area control.

How to unlock the top-tier guns

New weapons come from two places: the Armory safe in the lobby, which takes in-game cash, and your player level, which unlocks additional guns as it climbs. If you are starting fresh on the Hood Rivals Roblox page, the safe is the faster route.

Press Unlock New Guns ! in the lobby, or walk over to the ARMORY and open the safe. Both lead to the same weapon list.
Select the PumpShotgun and hit Unlock. It costs nothing, and it is the only A-tier weapon you can add to your account for free.
Buy the ARP for 2,500$ as soon as your cash allows. Skip the Cosmetic Crates in the shop at 2,000$ to 5,000$ until this is done — they hand you skins, not weapon options.
Open your loadout, drop the new guns into slots one and two, and take them into the GUN RANGE. Shooting the dummies tells you the recoil pattern and reload timing before it costs you a round.

You will know an unlock worked when the gun appears as a selectable option in the loadout slot list rather than staying greyed out in the safe.

How the tiers shift by game mode

Arcade is where the aggressive picks look best. Respawns come quickly, engagements are constant, and the ARP or PumpShotgun rarely goes cold. It is also the easiest place to test a new gun without a loss on the line, and one of the daily quests simply asks you to join it.

Team formats change the maths. In 2v2 and 3v3, the R700 and 50Caliber gain value because a teammate can cover the angle you cannot, while lone-wolf shotgun pushes get punished by crossfire. The Flashbang also jumps a full tier here.

Ranked is gated behind level 40. Attempting to queue earlier returns a message telling you your account must reach that level first, so treat the climb as the real prerequisite for a competitive loadout. Gun Game ignores tiers entirely — you fight with whatever the mode hands you, which is a useful way to learn the guns you have not unlocked yet.

Skins and cases do not change a gun’s tier

Skin packs such as Signature Edition, along with the Shoes Case, Watch Case, and Tattoo Case at 199 Robux each, are appearance items. Your inventory sorts them under Packs, Finishers, Tattoos, Watches, and Shoes, and none of those categories touch weapon performance. A Deagle with an expensive finish is still a Deagle.

How this ranking was built

Four criteria decide placement: overall combat strength in live matches, effective range and damage potential, how easy the weapon is to use consistently, and how well it holds up across different modes. Guns that only work in one narrow scenario drop to Situational no matter how hard they hit.

You can check any of this yourself. Open the scoreboard during or after a match and compare your DAMAGE and KILLS columns across several rounds with the same weapon. A gun that fits you will show steady damage numbers rather than one spike followed by three empty rounds.

This ranking reflects Hood Rivals as of September 2026. Weapon balance in a game this young moves, and the fastest way to keep your loadout current is to change one slot at a time and watch the scoreboard rather than swapping everything at once.
