House of The Locust: Full Walkthrough and Escape Ending (Roblox)

The complete objective chain to match the cubes, grab the wire cutters, and open the green EXIT while avoiding the Locust.

House of The Locust drops you inside the nest of a tall, pale-faced creature, and the only way out is to finish a fixed chain of objectives before it catches you. The house is a maze of green-wallpapered hallways, chandeliers, and hidden crawl spaces, and the whole run comes down to setting up three colored blocks, getting a tool, and reaching the marked exit door. It is a pre-alpha build from NULLWORKS STUDIOS, so exact spawn spots and enemy behavior can shift between updates, but the escape order stays the same.

Quick answer: Carry the red, yellow, and blue cubes onto their matching floor pads, take the wire cutters that drop from the ceiling rope, search cabinets for the key, then use both items on the green EXIT door to escape.

The escape chain in order

Every successful run follows the same sequence. Learn this order first, because wandering the house without a plan is what gets most players caught.

StageWhat you do
1. Match cubesMove the red, yellow, and blue cubes onto the floor pads of the same color
2. Take the toolCollect the wire cutters from the rope that drops after the cubes are placed
3. Find the keySearch wooden cabinets in the hallways for the key
4. Open the exitUse the wire cutters and key on the green EXIT door and run through

Match the red, yellow, and blue cubes

You spawn in a narrow wooden corridor with control prompts on the walls, then drop into a white-walled room that has three glowing floor pads in red, blue, and yellow. Your job is to find each large cube and carry it to the pad of the matching color. The cubes sit in different parts of the house, including a dark room where you turn on a flashlight and a library lined with bookshelves.

Pick up one cube at a time and carry it straight back to the colored pad room. Do not try to juggle all three at once, since a cube only counts once it reaches its matching pad.

Reset your route between carries and break line of sight at corners. If a cube gets stuck, the game prompts you to jiggle it loose.
Place all three so the blue, yellow, and red blocks each sit on their own color. Completing the set is what triggers the next stage.

Note: In some builds the pads instead call for a Blue Keycard carried by the Locust, placed on the blue pad to drop a rope into the attic. Because this is pre-alpha, treat exact item spots as changeable and follow the color-match logic first.

Take the wire cutters

Once all three cubes are on their pads, a rope drops from a square hatch in the ceiling of the pad room. Interact with it to receive the wire cutters, which go straight into your inventory. This tool is required to bypass the lock on the exit door, so do not skip it.

Some runs also use a crowbar hanging on a wall, which pries open a metal maintenance panel next to the exit. Whichever tool the current build gives you, the goal is the same, which is to open the way into the door mechanism.

Find the key and open the green EXIT

With the tool in hand, start searching the wooden cabinets scattered through the hallways. The prompt reads “Search” when you are close enough. One of them holds the key you need for the final door.

Head to the large grey double door marked with a green EXIT sign. Remember where this door is before the chase starts, so you are not hunting for it while the Locust is on you.

Equip the wire cutters and interact with the keypad lock on the left side of the door. The prompt confirms “WireCutter Needed.”
Switch to the key and interact with the keyhole on the right side. Once both are used, the doors slide open onto a bright white corridor.
Run straight through the open doorway into the white light, even as the Locust chases from behind. Crossing the threshold ends the run.

Avoiding the Locust

The Locust is a tall, slender creature with long limbs and a pale face that patrols the hallways. If it catches you, the run ends instantly with a red jumpscare and a death screen, and you respawn back in the starting corridor. Wall text warns you to “KEEP A LOW PROFILE OR HE SHALL COME,” which is the game telling you to move in short cycles instead of sprinting everywhere.

  • Duck into vents and crawl spaces to let the monster pass before moving again.
  • Plan both an approach and a separate retreat path before you commit to any objective.
  • Use corners and dividers to break line of sight rather than relying on raised ledges, which are not guaranteed safe.
  • If you are playing with friends, split scouting and carrying, then regroup before the final door.

How to confirm you escaped

You know the run worked when the screen fades into white and you enter a room reading “YOU ESCAPED CONGRATULATIONS,” followed by a note that you will be teleported back to the lobby soon. Completing the escape awards the Escaped badge, which sits at roughly 10.8% rarity, so clearing the house puts you in a minority of players. If the door does not open, you are usually missing either the tool or the key, so recheck your inventory before approaching the exit again.

Why runs fail

Most failed attempts come down to a few avoidable habits. Moving before you have read the room leaves you exposed, and trying to shift all three cubes at once almost always ends in a death mid-carry. Searching for permanent item spawns is another trap, because the pre-alpha layout can move things between updates, so follow the objective order rather than memorizing rooms. Finally, approaching the exit or the monster without a retreat planned wastes an otherwise clean run.

Keep the chain simple in your head. Match the cubes, grab the tool, find the key, and reach the green door, breaking sight and resetting your route between each step. You can jump into the current build on the official Roblox listing and expect further changes, since the developers have flagged improved Locust intelligence and a new “Boiled One” enemy for a coming update.
