The Apple Card is a mobile-first credit card, and you need an iPhone to activate it. And yes, for the Apple fan inside us, it’s quite magical to activate the Apple card with an iPhone. The slim titanium card has tech inside that your iPhone is able to detect when brought near it.
If you’ve ever setup an iPhone with another iPhone by bringing the two devices closer, OR paired an Apple Watch with an iPhone, then you have already experienced the effortless setup. And well, activating Apple Card is similarly effortless.
Activate Apple Card
The process of setting up Apple Card is slightly different on iPhone XS and XR devices than the iPhone X or earlier iPhone models. We don’t know why is that but rest assured it’s still effortless on all iPhone alike.
iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR
- Open the packaging of your Apple Card.
- Unlock your iPhone and bring it near to the Apple Card inside the package.
- Wait for the Apple Card pop-up to show on your iPhone.
- Tap Activate on the Apple Card pop-up.
iPhone X or earlier devices
- Open Wallet app on your iPhone.
- Tap Apple Card.
- Tap Activate your card.
- Open the packaging of your Apple Card.
- Unlock your iPhone and bring it near to the Apple Card inside the package.
- Wait for the Apple Card pop-up to show on your iPhone.
- Tap Activate on the Apple Card pop-up.
That’s it. Your Apple Card is now activated.
