If you use a Windows computer, you can subscribe to Microsoft 365 and gain an Xbox Game Pass subscription as well – the former ensures top-notch productivity and the game pass takes care of your gaming needs when you need to blow off some steam or kill some time.

There can be times when you would like to cancel one of the two services or even both of them. Though canceling a subscription is not rocket science, it could be a bit of a hassle if you’re not acquainted with the process. To make things easier, here’s a quick guide to help smoothly cancel your Microsoft 365 and/or Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Cancel Microsoft 365 Subscription

Microsoft 365 is a bundled service from Microsoft that comprises apps such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, Outlook, along with 1 TB storage on OneDrive. While the apps bundles in the subscription are a necessity, additional storage might entirely depend on personal requirements.

Launch the ‘Microsoft Office’ app from the Start Menu on your Windows computer.

Then, click on your account profile picture and choose the ‘My account’ option from the list. This will redirect you to Microsoft’s website by launching it on your system’s default browser.

If you’re not logged in already, click the ‘Sign in’ button at the top right section of the screen.

Note: You must sign in with the account for which you wish to cancel the Microsoft 365 subscription.

Then, click on the ‘Services & subscriptions’ tab on the webpage.

Next, click the ‘Manage’ option to the right of your billing information.

Select the ‘Cancel Subscription’ under the ‘Payment Settings’ section. This will redirect you to another page.

Now, scroll to locate and click the ‘Turn off recurring billing’ button to cancel your subscription.

You will receive a notification upon successful cancellation of your subscription.

That’s it! Your Microsoft 365 subscription now stands canceled.


Cancel Microsoft Xbox Game Pass Subcription

You may have bid adieu to your Xbox, or you have been spending too much time perfecting your driving skills on Forza Horizon. Whatever may be your reason for canceling your Xbox Game Pass subscription, here’s how you can do it in a jiffy.

Launch the ‘Xbox’ app from the Start Menu of your Windows computer.

Then, click your account profile picture at the top right section of the window. Next, click the ‘Settings’ option from the menu.

Select the ‘Account’ tab on the left sidebar of the Xbox app window.

Click on the ‘Manage’ option under the ‘Subscriptions’ section. This will redirect you to the Microsoft website by launching the default browser on your Windows PC.

Again, if not logged in already, click the ‘Sign in’ button at the top right section of the screen.

Note: You must sign in with the account for which you wish to cancel the Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Click the ‘Services & subscriptions’ tab on the webpage.

Now, click the ‘Manage’ option under the ‘Xbox Game Pass’ section on the ‘Services & subscriptions’ page.

Next, click the ‘Cancel subscription’ option under the ‘Payment settings’ section to terminate your Xbox Game Pass. This will redirect you to another webpage.

Now, scroll to locate and click on the ‘Cancel subscription’ option from the overlay screen. You will be redirected once more.

Click the ‘Cancel subscription’ button among the two options.

If you are canceling your subscription before 30 days of the next billing cycle, you can also choose to get a refund for the last billed amount – however, you will immediately lose access to your Xbox Game Pass. If you do not wish to get a refund you can enjoy the benefits till your next billing cycle date.

Choose the preferable option by clicking the radio button and then hit ‘Cancel subscription’.

You will receive a notification upon successful cancellation of your Xbox Game Pass.
