Windows 11 introduces a modern design with rounded corners and updated visual elements. However, browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge might not immediately reflect these changes. Fortunately, you can enable Windows 11 style menus and UI elements in both browsers through experimental settings. This guide will show you how to activate these features in Chrome and Edge.
Use Chrome flags to enable Windows 11 UI elements
Google Chrome allows you to enable experimental features that can enhance its appearance to match Windows 11's aesthetics. Follow the steps below to enable Windows 11 style menus in Chrome:
- Launch the Google Chrome browser on your computer.
- In the address bar, type
chrome://flags/
and pressEnter
to open the Chrome Flags page.
- At the top of the Flags page, use the search bar to type
Windows 11 Style Menus
and locate the specific flag. - Next to the Windows 11 Style Menus flag, click the drop-down menu and select Enabled - All Windows Versions.
Note: Before proceeding, ensure you save any unsaved work, as the browser will restart and might discard unsaved data.
- Click the Relaunch button at the bottom-right corner to restart Chrome and apply the changes.
After relaunching, Chrome's menus will feature rounded corners, aligning with Windows 11's design and providing a more cohesive visual experience.
Use the experiments tab in Edge to enable Windows 11 UI elements
Microsoft Edge automatically displays Windows 11 UI elements when running on Windows 11. If you're using an older version of Windows or want to ensure these visual updates are enabled, you can manually activate them using Edge's experimental settings:
- Open Microsoft Edge on your computer.
- In the address bar, type
edge://flags/
and pressEnter
to access the Edge Flags page.
- Use the search bar at the top to type
Windows 11 Visual Updates
and find the relevant flag. - In the search results, locate the Enable Windows 11 Visual Updates flag. Click the drop-down menu next to it and select Enabled.
Note: Save any important work before restarting the browser to prevent loss of unsaved data.
- Click the Restart button at the bottom-right corner to relaunch Edge and apply the new settings.
Once Edge restarts, you'll notice the updated UI elements with rounded corners, enhancing the browser's appearance to match Windows 11.
By following these steps, you can easily enable Windows 11 style UI elements in both Chrome and Edge browsers, creating a unified look across your desktop environment.
