Cursed Immortal is a Mythic unit added with the Villains Update in Anime Expeditions, and it is built around Zeref from the Fairy Tail series. Instead of holding a fixed spot, it walks along the path and damages every enemy caught inside its aura. A Black Magic meter flips it between two states that change how hard and how wide it hits, which makes it a strong pick for clearing crowds.

Quick answer: Summon Cursed Immortal from the Villain Banner using Villain Coins, then evolve it into Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) at the Evolution station with Sprites, a Cursed Book, and 10,000 Gold.

Pull Cursed Immortal from the Villain Banner

Cursed Immortal only appears on the Villain Banner, which sits in the summons menu with a single “Summon” button and a “Summon 10x” button. Both cost Villain Coins, so you need that currency before you can roll for the unit.

You earn Villain Coins mainly by clearing the Villain Invasion mode. Redeeming active codes and buying Villain Coin packs with Robux are the other two ways to stock up.

The banner has a 0.25% chance to hand out a Mythic unit per summon. Cursed Immortal shares that Mythic slot with Razorjaw and Dark Mage, so when a Mythic does drop, there is a 1 in 3 chance it is Cursed Immortal. A pity system backs this up, guaranteeing a Mythic on your 400th summon if you have not pulled one already.

Evolve into Cursed Immortal (Black Sun)

The base unit upgrades into Cursed Immortal (Black Sun), which is the version worth building around. Head to the Evolution station, pick the Zeref-inspired unit, and submit the required materials to complete the evolution.

Gold and the different Sprites come from clearing Acts in Challenge mode, and you can also produce these items through crafting. The Cursed Book is sold in the Villain Invasion Shop for 5,000 Villain Coins, so running the same Villain Invasion Act repeatedly is the quickest way to bank enough coins for it.

How the Black Magic states work

Cursed Immortal (Black Sun) does not sit and shoot. It moves along the path and ticks damage to anything inside its aura, and the meter it carries decides how that aura behaves.

Wandering Death: The unit takes no damage and deals no collision damage while passing through enemies. Instead, it applies damage every tick to all enemies standing inside its aura.

Reckless Control: The Black Magic meter starts at 0. While it climbs, the unit is in the “Caring State”; while it drops, the unit is in the “Cold State”.

StateMeter change per second walkedDamage outputRange used
Caring State+550% of current damage50% of range
Cold State-2125% of current damage25% of range

The trade is simple to read in play. The Caring State keeps a wide aura at lower damage, so it is your crowd-clear phase, while the Cold State shrinks the aura but pushes damage numbers up sharply against tougher targets.

State of Critical Mass: Every time the unit switches between states, its Critical Chance rises by 5%, up to a cap of 30%. Because the meter naturally rises and falls, this stat builds up on its own as the unit keeps cycling.

Best trait and pairing

Unbound is the best trait for Cursed Immortal (Black Sun). For team placement, pair it with Toy Maker. Toy Maker keeps spawning minions that stall enemies on the path, which lets the evolved Cursed Immortal make faster loops and ticks more aura damage into the stalled crowd.

Fully upgraded to 9/9 for a total of ¥43,650, the unit reaches 8,983 damage, a 1.7-second attack speed, and 19 range. That low attack speed matters because it lets the aura tick damage rapidly as the unit sweeps through enemies, and it is the reason a maxed Black Sun chews through even very high-health targets during its Cold State.

Put it all together and Cursed Immortal earns its slot as a mobile crowd-control carry. Get the pull from the Villain Banner, farm the Cursed Book and Sprites for the Black Sun evolution, slot Unbound, and let the state swaps handle the rest.
