How to Get and Use the Glider in PEAK (The Final Ascent)

Where the Glider drops, how to deploy it mid-air, and how to manage stamina while gliding across gaps.

The Glider is a mobility item introduced with the The Final Ascent update for PEAK. Rather than dropping straight down after leaping from a high point, you can deploy it to travel horizontally, which helps when crossing wide gaps or working around rough terrain. The trade-off is stamina, so timing matters more than the input itself.

Quick answer: Open Luggage until a Glider drops, keep it in one of your three inventory slots, then jump off a high ledge and select the Glider slot while airborne. Move your mouse to steer without pressing any buttons.

Where the Glider spawns in PEAK

The Glider is a random drop found inside Luggage as you explore the mountains. There is no crafting recipe or fixed location for it, so you simply open containers and hope one appears. It comes from Regular Luggage, Big Luggage, and Explorer’s Luggage.

Ancient Luggage will not produce a Glider, so skip those when you are specifically hunting for one. The item is large and easy to spot inside a container, so you will know it when it shows up. Press E to pick it up and it will occupy one of your inventory slots.

How to deploy the Glider

Find a suitable high point and jump off it. You need height and forward space for the Glider to carry you.
Once you are airborne, select the Glider slot from your inventory. It activates automatically, similar to the way the Parasol works when held.
Do not press any buttons. Move your mouse to steer and hold forward (W on keyboard) to keep traveling through the air toward your target.

You are still falling the whole time, just at a controlled angle with horizontal reach. The Glider gives you far more say over where you land compared to a plain drop.

Stamina drain and how to manage it

Gliding consumes stamina, and it drains noticeably faster than sprinting. You cannot stay in the air indefinitely, so treat the Glider as a tool for covering real distance rather than something to trigger on every jump. If your stamina empties mid-flight, you drop and can take fatal fall damage.

To extend your range, pair the Glider with stamina items. An Energy Drink or a Lollipop gives you a temporary boost, and carrying bonus stamina into a long horizontal crossing keeps you from running dry before you reach the far side.

Best uses for the Glider

The Glider shines in areas built around vertical movement and wide gaps. It lets you cross open space, reach distant platforms, and take alternate routes you could not otherwise reach on foot. Gloom, one of the new areas in the update, is a strong place to lean on it.

A practical habit is to deploy it from the top of each mountain as you move into the next biome. You are already high up at that point, so a single glide can save a lengthy climb-down and reposition you closer to your next objective. The item’s weight is light enough that carrying it does not slow your climbing.

Unlock the Hang Gliding Badge

The Hang Gliding Badge asks you to fly 100m with the Glider without touching the ground, and it rewards the Triforce t-shirt. The SHORE biome is the easiest place to complete it because you can safely end the run afterward.

Spawn at SHORE and open Luggage until a Glider drops. This may take a few attempts, so keep opening every eligible container.
Climb to roughly the midway point of the mountain, then turn to face the crashed plane so you have a long stretch of open air ahead.
Equip the Glider, jump, and hold forward. Keep flying until the achievement pops. Playing on Tenderfoot or Peak gives you the extra stamina to reach the full distance without falling.

You will know it worked when the Hang Gliding achievement appears on screen. The most common failure is running out of stamina mid-air, which sends you to your death before you hit 100m, so bring stamina items and start from enough height.

Once you understand the timing, the Glider is worth keeping in your bag. It takes a little practice to read your stamina against the distance you are trying to cover, but it consistently saves time on vertical maps and lets you skip the trickiest climbs.
