How to Get the Bear in Grow a Garden 2 (Mythic Pet)

The Bear costs 5M Sheckles from a map spawn or hatches from an Epic Egg, and it throws intruders out of your plot.

The Bear is a Mythic-tier pet in Grow a Garden 2 that acts as a live-in bodyguard for your plot. It arrived with the Aurora Event update, and it earns its keep by physically removing players who wander in to steal from you. Getting one comes down to two paths, both tied to luck.

Quick answer: Wait for a Bear to spawn on your map and buy it for 5,000,000 Sheckles (5M), or hatch one from an Epic Egg. The map spawn chance is 0.225%, and the Epic Egg hatch chance is 9%.

How to get the Bear from a map spawn

Keep playing on your plot and watch the map for a Bear to appear. Because it is Mythic, the spawn chance is just 0.225%, so it can take a long time to show up.
When a Bear spawns, walk up to it and buy it for 5,000,000 Sheckles. You need the full 5M on hand at the moment you interact with it.
Confirm the purchase and the Bear becomes one of your active pets. It then starts patrolling your garden.

Tip: The paid Pet Teleporters can drop you straight onto the Mythic pet on the map, which cuts down the time you spend searching for high-rarity spawns like the Bear.

How to get the Bear from an Epic Egg

If you would rather gamble on an egg than wait for a map spawn, the Epic Egg can hatch a Bear with a 9% chance. That is far better odds than the 0.225% map spawn, so for many players the egg route is the more reliable way in.

Hatch Epic Eggs until a Bear pops out. Each egg is an independent roll, so there is no guaranteed pity. Plan to open several before you see one.

What the Bear does

The Bear is a defensive pet. When another player ventures into your garden, the Bear tackles them, pins them down, and throws them out. This makes it an active deterrent against thieves, which matters most during the in-game night cycles when other players try to steal your crops.

The Bear’s ability scales with its size variant. The multiplier rises as the variant gets larger.

Size variantAbility multiplier
Normalx1
Bigx2
Megax4

Rainbow Bear during Rainbow Moon

A Bear that spawns during a Rainbow Moon has a 2% chance to appear as a Rainbow variant. The Rainbow version uses its own boosted stats for Normal, Big, and Mega sizes, so it is worth checking the map during a Rainbow Moon if you want the rarest form of the pet.

Between its tackle ability and its strong defensive value, the Bear ranks among the best pets you can currently field. If you can stomach the slim spawn odds or grind enough Epic Eggs, it pays off as one of the strongest garden protectors in the game.
