How to Get the Free KittyKånka in Adopt Me for The Hunt: Roblox 20

Buying and hatching the 400 Bucks Throwback Egg is the only requirement for Adopt Me's anniversary reward.

Buying and hatching the 400 Bucks Throwback Egg is the only requirement for Adopt Me’s anniversary reward.

Adopt Me is one of the 20 experiences featured in The Hunt: Roblox 20, the platform-wide anniversary event that hands out a limited-time UGC item for every quest you finish. The Adopt Me stage does not involve a hidden collectible or a secret code. It runs entirely on the game’s normal pet care loop, and the reward attached to it is The KittyKånka, a Roblox-made accessory tied to the Adopt Me year.

Quick answer: Buy the Throwback Egg from the pedestal near Eggburt for 400 Bucks, keep it equipped, complete pet needs until it collects 600 XP and hatches, then claim the reward at the Hunt hub.

What you need before starting the Adopt Me Hunt quest

The whole objective stalls if you arrive without enough in-game currency, so sort that out first.

  • At least 400 Bucks saved up for the Throwback Egg.
  • Access to the official Adopt Me experience on Roblox.
  • Time to complete pet needs, since the egg hatches on XP rather than a timer purchase.
  • A visit back to The Hunt: Roblox 20 hub to actually receive the item.

How to hatch the Throwback Egg in Adopt Me

Open the Adopt Me year inside The Hunt: Roblox 20 and launch the experience from there, or join Adopt Me directly. Either route works, since the quest tracks what you do inside the game.

After spawning in, look for the Eggburt NPC standing just outside the Nursery. Talk to him and he will set the objective, which is to buy and hatch a Throwback Egg.
Head to the pedestal next to Eggburt and buy the Throwback Egg for 400 Bucks. One egg is enough for the quest, so there is no reason to stock up on extras.
Keep the Throwback Egg equipped and work through the needs that pop up. The egg has to gather 600 XP from those care tasks before it will hatch.

Keep clearing needs until the egg hatches into a pet. That hatch is the moment the Hunt objective completes, not the purchase.

Do not swap to another pet or egg while you are grinding needs, or you will be feeding XP into the wrong companion and making no progress on the quest.

The pet you end up with has no effect on the Hunt reward. Both outcomes count the same, so there is no need to reroll by buying a second egg if you were hoping for the other one.

How to claim The KittyKånka and confirm it worked

Hatching the egg only registers the quest. The accessory itself is awarded through the central event hub, which is where Roblox moves you on to the next year and drops the matching virtual item into your inventory. Return to the Hunt hub once the hatch has gone through and take the claim step there.

You know it worked when the Adopt Me year shows as complete in the hub and The KittyKånka appears in your Roblox inventory, ready to wear on your avatar.

If the Adopt Me quest is not progressing

Two things account for most stalled runs. The first is caring for the wrong companion, which is easy to do when you already have a pet out. Check that the Throwback Egg is the one equipped while you clear needs, otherwise the XP goes somewhere else entirely.

The second is assuming the egg failed to count. If it hatched but the quest still looks unfinished, go back to the hub before repeating any of the work. The completion may already be logged and simply waiting on the claim.

Adopt Me’s stage is one of the lighter ones in the anniversary lineup, since it asks for the same pet care players already do every session. Bank the 400 Bucks, keep the egg on you, and the accessory follows.
