How to Get the Razor Sword in Windrose

The Razor is an epic one-handed sword in Windrose built around critical hits and parry timing. It scales with agility, boosts your base critical hit chance by 10%, and widens the perfect block window, which makes it a strong fit for fast, counter-heavy melee builds.

⚔️
Quick answer: Loot the Razor from chests in the Coastal Jungle or Foothills, have a co-op partner drop one for you, or craft it at a Weaponsmith Workshop using 7 Foothills Iron Ingots, 2 Rough Hides, and 3 Smithing Flux.

Razor stats and perks

The Razor is classified as an epic melee weapon. At Level 1 it has a base attack of 100, scaling up to 380 at Level 15. Its identity comes from two passive effects rather than raw damage.

PropertyValue
TypeOne-handed sword (melee)
RarityEpic
Base ATK (Lv. 1)100
Max ATK (Lv. 15)380
Primary scalingAgility
Passive 1+10% base critical hit chance
Passive 2Wider perfect block window

The wider parry window is the part most players underestimate. Pair it with the crit bonus, and the Razor turns clean defensive play into burst damage on the counter.

Where to find the Razor as loot

Windrose does not sell weapons through vendors. You either find a weapon in the world, get one dropped by another player, or craft it once you have the recipe. The Razor shows up most reliably as chest and exploration loot in two regions.

  • Coastal Jungle — Ancient Chests and exploration loot in this biome have a high chance of containing the Razor.
  • Foothills — The other reliable region, with overlapping loot tables for mid-tier swords.

Picking up the weapon once also unlocks its crafting recipe, which is the long-term goal if you want to upgrade or replace it later.

Get one through co-op

If you have a friend who already owns a Razor, the fastest path is multiplayer. Join their lobby, have them drop the sword on the ground, and pick it up. Once it enters your inventory, the recipe becomes available to you as well, so you can craft replacements at your own workshop without grinding the loot zones.

Crafting the Razor

Crafting requires a Weaponsmith Workshop with an anvil installed for the epic-tier recipe. The workshop needs to be under a roof and within range of a bonfire, otherwise the crafting menu will not function.

Step 1: Build or upgrade your Weaponsmith Workshop and place an anvil next to it. Confirm the workshop is roofed and inside the bonfire's range indicator.

Step 2: Gather the required materials. The epic Razor recipe calls for the following.

MaterialQuantityHow to obtain
Foothills Iron Ingot7Smelt Foothills Iron Ore in a furnace
Rough Hide2Hunt furry animals and skin them
Smithing Flux3Buy from Port Royal smugglers

Step 3: Open the Weaponsmith Workshop, select the Razor recipe, and craft. The finished sword goes straight into your inventory at Level 1.

How to get Smithing Flux from Port Royal

Smithing Flux is gated behind reputation with the Port Royal smugglers, which is the main bottleneck for crafting the Razor. You need to reach at least Reputation Level 1 with them before they will sell it, and each unit costs 10 Piastre at that tier.

You raise smuggler reputation through a few repeatable activities:

  • Killing enemies that drop Insignias and turning them in.
  • Sinking rival ships during sea encounters.
  • Completing smuggler-aligned quests for Letters of Favor.

Once your standing hits Level 1, the Flux appears in their trade inventory. Stock up in bulk if you plan to upgrade the sword multiple times.

Building around the Razor

The 10% crit chance buff is a flat additive bonus, so it stacks well with gear and accessories that push critical rate even higher. Agility scaling means lighter armor sets and dexterity-style stat allocation will get more out of it than strength-heavy builds. The wider perfect block window also rewards aggressive parrying, so expect to spend more time reading enemy attacks than trading hits.

The Razor is not the strongest endgame sword in Windrose, but it is one of the cleanest payoff weapons for players who enjoy timing-based combat and want a melee option that rewards precision over raw stats.
