What unlocks early access

The New Zealand region trick does not work
Saros launches simultaneously across all PlayStation regions, so switching your console’s region to New Zealand will not give you earlier access. The unlock is tied to a single global release moment per edition, not a rolling regional rollout. The only way to play before April 30 is the Deluxe Edition’s built-in 48-hour window.
Confirming early access is active
If your unlock time has passed and the game still shows as locked, close the Saros tile and reopen it from the home screen. The PS5 should refresh entitlements and switch the tile from a countdown or pre-order state to a Play button. A signed-in PSN account on the same console that placed the pre-order is required.
For anyone weighing the extra $10, the Deluxe upgrade is the only way to start runs before April 30, and the cosmetic armors carry over to the Standard release. If skipping the head start is fine, the Standard Edition still includes the Hands of the Shore pre-order armor at $69.99.
