Spider-Man is built around speed, web-powered mobility, and close-range pressure in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. He rewards constant movement, quick pokes, and aerial confirms rather than slow, heavy hits, which makes him a strong pick for players who like to control the pace and keep opponents guessing.
Quick answer: Use Web Zip and wall movement to close the gap, chip with Web Shot and Web Bomb, then cash out openings into aerial strings. Spend 50 Skill Gauge on the Web Warrior Super for a fast combo, or 100 Skill Gauge on the Radioactive Spider Ultimate as a finisher.

Spider-Man’s abilities and what they do
Spider-Man’s kit centers on his webs. He can move while crouching, hang from the ceiling, and use his web-shooters to bind enemies or pull himself around the stage. His toolset splits into movement, projectiles, a defensive read, and two meter-spending finishers.
| Ability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Web Zip | Fires a web that pulls Spider-Man toward it; the trajectory changes with directional inputs. Usable in the air once per jump. |
| Zip Kick | Launches Spidey toward the opponent for a follow-up. Usable mid-air. |
| Web Slam | Throws a second web and slams; pulls the opponent in even if they are blocking. |
| Web Hang | Lets Spider-Man cling from above. Mid-air only. |
| Web Shot | Fires a web projectile. Most versions release multiple projectiles. Usable in the air. |
| Spidey-Sense | Evades incoming attacks; becomes a counter-attack when the hit comes from the enemy leader. |
| Arachnid Assault | Lunges in and kicks off the opponent; inputs during the move change the leap direction. |
| Web Bomb | Places a bomb that restrains the opponent and limits their movement. Usable in the air. |
| Web Warrior | Super Skill. A lunging combo that ends by throwing the opponent with webs. |
| Radioactive Spider | Ultimate Skill. A web lunge that becomes stronger on a close-range hit. |
Note: The aerial version of Arachnid Assault gains invincibility to air attacks partway through, which makes it a reliable anti-air. It cannot be used again until Spider-Man lands.

Spider-Man is not the hardest hitter on the roster, so his damage comes from stringing normals into his webs and closing rounds with meter. Two moves do the heavy lifting.
Web Warrior (Super Skill)
Web Warrior is a strong mid-round option. Press the Unique attack and Quick Skill buttons together and Spider-Man lunges in, landing nine consecutive web hits for over 18,000 damage. It costs 50 Skill Gauge, so it fits comfortably into a full bar without draining you completely.
Radioactive Spider (Ultimate Skill)
This is Spider-Man’s biggest single payoff. Press Medium and Heavy together while holding toward the opponent. He swings in with his web, and on a close-range hit the follow-up becomes more powerful, delivering eight rapid strikes into a final blow that can take over 39,000 HP. It costs 100 Skill Gauge, and it works best saved for when the opponent is at or below half health.
Tip: After Radioactive Spider connects, the hitstun from Web Zip stays increased for the rest of the round, which makes your follow-up webs easier to link.
How to play Spider-Man
Spider-Man leans aggressive, and his strength is refusing to sit still. Keep repositioning so opponents struggle to land clean hits, and use his mobility to bait attacks before punishing them.
Spider-Man command inputs (PC and PS5)
His moves use standard directional motions plus an attack button (Light, Medium, or Heavy). The EX versions cost Skill Gauge for extra hits or properties.
| Move | Type | Skill Gauge cost |
|---|---|---|
| Web Zip | Unique (R1 + direction, Air OK) | — |
| Web Shot | Skill (quarter-circle forward, Air OK) | 25 (EX) |
| Spidey-Sense | Skill (charge back-forward) | 25 (EX) |
| Arachnid Assault | Skill (quarter-circle back) | 25 (EX) |
| Web Bomb | Skill (double down, Air OK) | 25 (EX) |
| Web Warrior | Super Skill (quarter-circle forward + M/H) | 50 |
| Radioactive Spider | Ultimate Skill (quarter-circle back, forward + M/H) | 100 |
Web Bomb has a stronger version that cannot be destroyed by attacks, and the grounded Web Shot fires a single projectile while every other version releases several at once. Web Zip can be used again after a jump or aerial dash, so you can chain movement in the air.
Starting color options
Four color variations are available to every player from the start, covering both classic and alternate looks.
- Classic Red and Blue
- Future Foundation White and Black
- Symbiote Black and White
- Stealth Big Time Blue and Black
Spider-Man ends up being a mix-up and space-control specialist rather than a raw damage dealer. Stick to constant movement, fish for openings with his webs, and treat Radioactive Spider as your knockout button, and he becomes one of the harder characters to pin down. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is set to release on PS5 and PC on August 6th, 2026.
