If you frequently use multiple Bluetooth devices with your Windows 11 PC, you may find it challenging to distinguish between them. Windows often assigns generic names to connected Bluetooth devices, incorporating the vendor’s name and product model, which can make identification difficult when several devices are connected simultaneously. Fortunately, you can rename your Bluetooth devices on Windows 11 to make them easier to identify. Here’s how you can do it.
Connecting a Bluetooth device
Before renaming a Bluetooth device, you need to ensure it’s connected to your Windows 11 PC. Turn on your Bluetooth device and make it discoverable, then follow these steps to connect it to your computer.
Settings, or by pressing Win + I. In the Settings window, select ‘Bluetooth & devices’ from the left-hand menu.

If the new name doesn’t appear immediately, you may need to disconnect and reconnect the device for the changes to take effect.
By customizing the names of your Bluetooth devices, you can easily identify and manage them on your Windows 11 PC. If you ever wish to revert to the original name, you can remove the device and pair it again; Windows will assign the default name upon reconnecting.
