Autoplay is the feature that keeps your listening experience alive when you play individual tracks. This feature allows you to automatically savor similar music after a current track. It’s a great feature to enable when you want to stay in the same musical zone. However, there’s no obligation. You can enable or disable the feature.
Here’s how you can turn Autoplay on or off on your Spotify mobile and desktop applications.
Enabling/Disabling Autoplay on Spotify Desktop App
Launch Spotify on your computer and click your username to the top right corner of the screen. Select ‘Settings’ from the menu.
‘Autoplay’ would be one of the top sections on the Settings list. Click the toggle next to the first option – ‘Autoplay similar songs when your music ends in this app’, to turn it green.
Autoplay is successfully enabled for your Spotify desktop app.
If you want to extend the same setting to other Spotify devices, simply click the toggle of the second option under the ‘Autoplay’ section – ‘Autoplay similar songs when your music ends on other devices’.
Enabling/Disabling Autoplay on Spotify Mobile App
Open Spotify on your phone and tap the ‘Settings’ button (gear icon) to the top right corner of the screen.
Scroll through the ‘Settings’ screen to find the ‘Autoplay’ option under the ‘Playback’ section. Here, tap the toggle next to the option – ‘Keep on listening to similar tracks when your music ends’. The toggle must turn green.
And Autoplay is enabled on your phone! However, the Spotify mobile app does not have the option to enable Autoplay on all devices, like it’s on the desktop app.
To disable Autoplay, simply tap the same toggle to turn it grey.
That’s how you enable or disable Autoplay on your Spotify mobile and desktop devices. Hope you found our guide useful, and continue listening to similar favorite tracks!
