How to Unlock All 20 Achievements in SAND: Raiders of Sophie

Every trigger for the game's 20 Steam achievements, from horn honks to 25-kill expeditions.

Every trigger for the game’s 20 Steam achievements, from horn honks to 25-kill expeditions.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie ships with 20 Steam achievements, and they run the full range from a one-second horn honk to a brutal 25-kill run in a single expedition. Several are hidden, meaning the game hides their conditions until you complete them. The triggers themselves are fixed, so once you know exactly what each one wants, most come down to playing the right way at the right moment.

Quick answer: Every achievement unlocks the instant you meet its exact condition during play. The fastest freebie is I’m Tramplin’ Here! — sit in a trampler’s steering room and sound the horn. The rarest are the single-expedition milestones like Meat Grinder (5,000 player damage), Quantity Over Quality (1,000 shots fired), and Just a Flesh Wound (take 5,000 damage), each earned by under 0.1% of players.

Early and hidden unlocks you can grab first

A handful of achievements pop simply by doing the basics. I’m Tramplin’ Here! only needs you sitting in the steering position of any trampler you control, then using the horn. Sink into the Sands fires the first time you bring an enemy trampler’s durability to zero, which tends to happen on its own during vehicle fights.

Am I a Real Pirate Now? unlocks when you dig up buried treasure for the first time, so bring a shovel and dig a suspicious sand pile. Boarding Enthusiast requires you to capture a trampler rather than destroy it. Board an enemy vehicle, wipe out or scare off its crew, then take control. A coordinated squad makes the boarding much smoother.

Pesky Locals asks for 10 Upiór kills in one expedition, which you can clear by working through any Upiór-heavy area before extracting. Purple Goes Faster wants you to use 10 Energy Rods in a single run, so stock up before you deploy and burn through them as you go.

Single-expedition grind targets

Several achievements track a counter that resets at the end of each expedition, so you have to hit the full number before you extract or die. Longer runs give you more time to reach the total.

AchievementHow to reach the number
Patches and Bailing WiresStay with your trampler and repair every malfunction the moment it appears until you hit 40.
Friendly!Focus fire on enemy tramplers for the whole run; heavy weapons and drawn-out vehicle battles build toward 50,000 damage.
The Last of ThemFarm Upiór-heavy locations and keep clearing them until you reach 50 kills, then extract.
Quantity Over QualityBring automatic weapons or high-capacity magazines and keep firing to reach 1,000 shots.
Just a Flesh WoundSurvive repeated fights and heal often so you absorb 5,000 damage without dying.
Meat GrinderStay in frequent PvP; every point of damage to players counts, even without securing kills, until you reach 5,000.

Note: because the counters reset on death, staying alive is as important as hitting the number. Tankier gear, medical supplies, and a full ammo loadout let you push these totals in one uninterrupted run.

Leviathan and Black Door triggers

Three achievements tie into the game’s set-piece encounters. Teg Tou Fo Yam Sauh! is the simplest — find a Leviathan and let it kill you. It unlocks the instant you die to it. Is It Gone Now? is the opposite challenge. You have to fight the Leviathan with the right weapons until it enters its stunned state, which is far easier with a well-equipped team.

Is This the Last One!? requires you to open the Black Door, found at the Dreadnaught. Reach it and open the door to unlock the achievement.

The hardest PvP and capture milestones

The rarest achievements demand sustained combat performance in a single expedition. Geologists, Huh? needs 25 player kills in one run. Head to high-traffic locations, keep engaging enemy crews, and stay alive long enough to keep the count climbing. It sits at just 0.2% unlocked for a reason.

I See It, I Take It asks you to capture five tramplers in one expedition. Instead of destroying enemy vehicles, board and claim them one after another, which is far more realistic with a coordinated squad. Menace is the destruction counterpart, requiring you to blow up six tramplers in a single run — bring explosives or heavy anti-vehicle weapons and prioritize kills over captures.

The Art of CQC wants three melee kills in one expedition. Soften enemies with firearms first, then finish downed or distracted opponents with a melee attack. Galician al-Gaib is a precision task rather than a grind. Land a headshot on a player more than 250 meters away, using a scoped rifle from elevated terrain. A spotting teammate or rangefinder helps you judge the distance.

How you know an achievement unlocked

Each achievement fires the moment its condition is met, with the standard Steam pop-up appearing on screen. For hidden achievements, the description stays concealed in your list until you complete it, after which the requirement becomes visible. You can review the full set and check which ones remain outstanding on the game’s Steam achievements page.

The most common reason a counter-based achievement fails to unlock is dying or extracting before the total is reached, since progress toward numbers like 25 kills or 1,000 shots resets at the end of each expedition. Plan those runs around staying alive as long as possible, and treat the one-off triggers such as the first treasure dig, the first trampler capture, or the horn honk as quick wins you can bank early.
