Both the Boogeyman and the residents of Haddonfield have their own wardrobes in Halloween: The Game. Most of these skins and outfits are earned by playing, either by climbing progression levels or by clearing specific challenge collections, while a small number are locked behind the edition you buy or a pre-order.
Quick answer: Nearly every skin unlocks through account and character progression, Chapter Challenges, and the Progressive or Passive Challenge collections. Only the Inmate Michael skin and a few other Digital Deluxe items cannot be earned in-game, and Phantom Michael is tied to pre-ordering.
All Michael Myers skins and how to unlock them
Michael has eight distinct skins. The 1978 look is your starting appearance, and the rest are spread across paid extras, story completion, and prestige milestones. Reaching Profile Prestige Level 1 means hitting Level 100 on your account and then prestiging, and Michael Myers Prestige Level 1 works the same way for the Killer role.

Unlock the Civilian characters first
Before you can chase a character’s outfits, that character has to be available. Five Civilians are open from the start, several more unlock as your account level rises, and three are tied to the Digital Deluxe Edition.

All Civilian outfits and how to unlock them
Each Civilian starts with a default outfit and earns more through their own Progressive Challenge collection and through singleplayer Chapter Challenges. Progressive Challenges are named objectives you tackle in order for a specific character, so the outfit unlocks once you finish the listed step.

Alongside outfits, Civilians carry hair, eyewear, and makeup or blemish options. Those pieces come from a mix of Profile Level milestones, character-specific level and prestige milestones, and Passive Challenge tiers, so leveling a single Civilian steadily fills out their look.
Cosmetics you cannot earn by playing
A few items sit outside the challenge and progression systems. The Inmate Michael skin and Laurie’s fourth outfit are exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition and cannot be grinded for in-game. Phantom Michael is a pre-order reward available with both the Standard and Digital Deluxe editions, and it stops being obtainable once the pre-order window closes.
Owning a physical edition unlocks its bundled Advance Access cosmetics right away, and those particular items can also be earned through play if you don’t already have them. The pre-order and Deluxe-only items are the exception, since there is no in-game path to add them later.
How to confirm a skin unlocked
Once you meet a requirement, the new skin or outfit appears in that character’s customization menu and can be selected for your loadout. If an item you expect is still missing, the usual causes are straightforward. The challenge condition wasn’t fully met, the character itself is still locked, or the item is one of the edition-exclusive cosmetics that never drops through gameplay.
Because outfits are tied to Progressive collections you complete in sequence, working steadily through each character’s challenge list and the six story chapters is the most reliable route to the full wardrobe, with prestige milestones reserved for Michael’s toughest skins like Clown and Scorched.
