How to Unlock WG-22 in Fortnite Star Wars Droid Tycoon (Gonk Army Event)

In Fortnite’s Star Wars Droid Tycoon, WG-22 is a well-known Gonk-style droid awarded through the Gonk Army Event. To get it, craft droids from the event’s Gonk lineup and submit them to the giant WG-22 NPC until you reach the first reward milestone. Once you have WG-22, your odds of crafting Flawless droids double, making it useful well beyond Halloween.

Quick answer: Build Gonk-family droids and hand them over to the WG-22 NPC to advance event progress; reach 20 sawblades to unlock WG-22. Higher-rarity droids and the Event Pass earn you additional sawblades per delivery.

Gonk Army Event window and active boosts

The Gonk Army Event is the second weekly event in the month-long Gonk-O-Ween celebration, held from October 1 through October 31. It runs for 24 hours, with the window opening at 4:00 AM ET on October 10 and closing at 4:00 AM ET on October 11. WG-22 is available only during that period, so complete the turn-ins before the event ends.

Three multipliers are active across the base during the event, which speed up the whole craft-and-deliver loop:

How to unlock WG-22

The core loop is simple: grab Gonk blueprints, build the droids, and hand them to WG-22. Each delivery adds event progress (sawblades), and the first milestone grants the droid.

Pick up Gonk-family blueprints from the conveyor belts around the main base area. The eligible models are GONK, EG-58, EGL, KT, MPH, J09-4MN, PLNK, and ECG. Anything outside that list will not count toward the event.

Place the blueprints on your crafting stations and build the droids. Higher-rarity builds are worth far more progress, so it pays to craft Rare, Epic, or Rainbow versions when you can.

Carry each finished droid to the giant WG-22 NPC near the Halloween-themed vendor booth, marked by a yellow quest arrow. Open the “Build Gonk Army!” prompt and hand the droid over to bank your sawblades.

Keep crafting and delivering until you reach 20 sawblades, which triggers the WG-22 reward. The full delivery track continues to 200 for additional rewards, but the droid itself drops at the first milestone.

Sawblade values by rarity

Not every droid is worth the same. A common Gonk barely moves the bar, while a Rainbow or Kyber variant can clear a large chunk of the milestone in a single hand-in. The Event Pass roughly doubles each value.

Because the milestone is only 20 sawblades, a handful of Rare or Epic turn-ins gets you WG-22 quickly without needing to spend V-Bucks.

Speed up crafting with C-3PO and Conveyor Overload

Assign companion droids

Stationing C-3PO at your primary crafting station lets you instantly finish queued droids the moment they are placed, cutting out the build timer entirely. Companion EG-58 units parked in the lounge also shorten build times across the board, so the whole pipeline moves faster.

Trigger Conveyor Overload

Deliveries also fill a shared lobby meter. Depositing 30 Gonks charges the Gonk Army bar and fires off the “GONK ARMY ACTIVATE!” Conveyor Overload, a 60-second window where mini-Gonk droids electrify the conveyor belts. During that window a Variant Boost spawns Rare and Kyber blueprints far more often, giving you the high-value droids that clear the milestone fastest.

The Event Pass (optional)

The Event Pass is a consumable unlock bought in-game for 300 V-Bucks and only works inside Droid Tycoon. It awards 2x event progress on every turn-in and adds +0.5x to all event boosts. It is not required to unlock WG-22, but it halves the number of droids you need to deliver.

Rewards past WG-22

Once WG-22 is claimed, the delivery track keeps going. Turning in more droids, including Rare and Rainbow variants, unlocks later milestones that grant Crafting Boost Tokens along with Halloween Treats and Nova Crystals. Treats can then be spent in the Gonk-O-Ween Event Shop on limited-time base paints, droid costumes, hats, and VFX auras.

How to confirm WG-22 is unlocked

When you cross the milestone, the game displays a “REWARD! WG-22” screen followed by the message “WG-22 has enlisted! Lead the Gonk Army well!” The droid is then added directly to your collection as the Default Iconic WG-22, and you can open its companion card to confirm the Battle type, 15%/s speed, and 2x Flawless Chance perk are all present.
