Ice Tycoon 2: How to Collect All 5 Gems and Earn the Collector Badge

Ice Tycoon 2 hides five gems across its map, and collecting every one earns the Collector badge along with a permanent upgrader that survives rebirths. Each gem sits behind a different challenge, from a mine dig to a well maze, and every gem you slot into your tycoon adds a fixed +5% to your income.

Quick answer: Grab the Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, and Purple gems from their locations, then place all five into the circular slot display on the wall at your tycoon. When the last gem clicks in, the Collector badge is awarded and the Gem Upgrader activates.

What you need before hunting gems

Two gems are gated behind progress you should already have. Both the Red and Yellow gems require the Hotel trophy, since it unlocks the ability to grab Frozen Magma and to play the hotel obby levels. You also need most map areas open, including the mine, so play through the game normally before marathon hunting.

Each gem sits in a late-game or mid-map area, so having your Lava Upgrader and basic tools running first means you are not scrambling for Cash mid-route. You can collect the gems in any order.

Blue Gem in the mine

Head into the mine attached to your tycoon after you have unlocked all of its areas. Walk to the pile of rocks in the far corner.

Use your pickaxe to break the corner rocks. A hole opens up underneath where they stood.

Drop down the hole. The Blue Gem is at the bottom, with no puzzle attached. Once collected, the hole does not reappear.

Green Gem at the Abandoned Factory

Follow the path past the “WARNING Cold -10” and “WARNING Super Cold -30” signs into the snowy area. Walk through the static-textured wall to enter the hidden Abandoned Factory passage.

Inside, find the wall-mounted platforms and climb the obby up to a high window. The jumps are short but tight.

Enter the small room at the top and take the Green Gem from its pedestal. If you miss a jump, restart from the passage entrance.

Red Gem in the lava pit

Go to the Hotel and head up to the upper floors. Enter the room with the bed and pick up the Frozen Magma from the floor. You need the Hotel trophy first to access it.

Carry the Frozen Magma back to the lava collector at your tycoon, the same pit your conveyors feed. Equip and consume it to trigger the “+Heat resistance for 1 minute” prompt.

While the resistance is active, jump straight into the lava pit. You drop into a room below where the Red Gem sits on a pedestal.

Note: Frozen Magma only protects you in your main base lava pit. It does not work against Rebirth Dimension lava, so do not waste it there.

Yellow Gem behind the Hotel key

Return to the Hotel and approach the level selection panel. Press the red button to start Level 1, then finish the rising-water obby before the water catches you.

Use the green button to switch levels, then clear Level 2 and Level 3 in order. Level 3 uses invisible walls and trick paths, so move carefully. Beating it gives you the Key.

Take the Key to the locked door in the first snow area and open it. Go inside, drop down the hatch in the floor, and complete the drop obby to reach the Yellow Gem.

Purple Gem in the well maze

Travel to the area just past the first battle, one of the last areas in the game, and find the stone well. Cold zones can block the route, so carry Frozen Magma or a high-tier Heat Crystal if needed.

Jump down into the well to enter a dark, narrow maze. Work through the passages until you reach an obby section, noting dead ends so a rebirth reset costs you less time.

Complete the dark platforming obby and collect the Purple Gem from its pedestal at the end.

Slot the gems and confirm the Collector badge

With all five gems in hand, return to your tycoon and find the circular stone slot display on the wall near the secrets area. Place each gem into its matching slot. The first gem you find visibly fits the shape, which confirms you have the right socket.

You know it worked when the badge notification appears, reading “Badge Awarded: Collector,” and the permanent upgrader switches on. That Gem Upgrader buffs your ice right before it sells, stacking with the Lava Upgrader, and it carries over through every rebirth.

The +5% per gem is a permanent account bonus, separate from temporary boosts, and it stacks before rebirth. Two gems mean +10% forever, and all five mean +25% on top of whatever your conveyors and Lava Upgrader already earn.

Collector and Secret Finder are not the same badge. Collector is awarded for slotting all five gems, while Secret Finder requires finding every hidden secret in the game, including non-gem content.
