The Abyss Artifact Siege is the scheduled, server-wide PvP event at the center of Aion 2‘s endgame. Elyos and Asmodians drop into the floating islands of Reshanta and fight each other, and a central boss, for control of the map’s Artifacts. A Level 45 Templar run through one of these sieges shows exactly how messy it gets: a core boss on a platform, two factions piling in, repeated deaths, and long flights back through accelerator rings to rejoin the fight.
Quick answer: The Artifact Siege is a timed faction battle in the Abyss where each side races to land the killing blow on the Dimensional Cores at the Artifacts. You need Character Level 45 and Item Level 1,000 to enter.
What the Abyss Artifact Siege is
Reshanta, the Abyss, is a lawless zone where the two factions can attack each other freely. It is split into three layers, and the Artifact Siege plays out across the contested islands between each side’s base. When the event begins, every Artifact’s occupation state resets and a Dimensional Core appears at each Artifact location. The faction that lands the final strike on a Core claims that Artifact.
Artifact control increases Abyss Points for the whole faction: holding one grants +2.5%, two grant +5%, and three grant +7.5%. After the siege, every Artifact controlled by the victorious faction becomes an entrance to an instanced farming area. These Abyss Corridors remain available until the following siege starts. A fixed number of players from the winning side are awarded Abyss Points according to their contribution.
Combat is deliberately two-sided. You are fighting the Core as a PvE target while the enemy faction tries to do the same thing and kill you in the process. Lower Reshanta’s layout adds flight to the mix, with accelerator rings scattered across the islands so players can glide and boost between respawn hubs and contested points.

Add to Google Preferences →Requirements to enter the siege
The Abyss unlocks at level 45, but the Lower Reshanta bases add a second gate. The entry panel lists two hard requirements before you can take part.
- Character Level 45 — reached through the Episode story quests.
- Item Level 1,000 — the gear threshold to enter the Lower Reshanta bases.
- A weekly Abyss time budget that is spent only while you are inside the layer, and which resets each week.
Because your Abyss time only counts down while you are inside, sort out Stigmas and shopping in town first, then enter with a target in mind, such as a siege window or an elite spawn.
What a Templar siege run looks like
Before the fight, allied players stack up on a circular dais in Chaotic Lower Reshanta and wait out a preparation countdown. Nothing is contested yet, so this is the staging phase while everyone groups up.

When the timer ends, an on-screen prompt reads “Start” and announces that all artifacts have had their occupation states reset. A large fiery core then spawns on the dais, which is the Dimensional Core players need to damage.

The opposing Asmodians arrive almost immediately, and the dais turns into a crowded mass battle of players and the boss at once. This is the part a solo character has the least control over, since focus fire from a coordinated group can end a run in seconds.

Death is routine here. When the Templar goes down, a “Character has been defeated” modal names the killer, and the player respawns at a base hub such as Latexian Western Root rather than on the spot.

Getting back to the fight means flying. From the respawn hub, the player launches into the glowing flight rings above the base to build speed and cross back toward the contested islands.

The chain of accelerator rings keeps going out among the floating islands, routing players toward Sulfur Tree Island and the Archipelago of Siel’s Wings, the two outer Artifact zones in Lower Reshanta. In this run the fight swings between those islands as the player chases whichever point is still contested.

It does not end well for the Elyos side. The siege closes with an “Ended” banner, and the map shows all three Artifacts, Reshanta’s Root, Sulfur Tree Island and the Archipelago of Siel’s Wings, captured by the opposing Eastern Camp. The run finishes on the Abyss Rank tab, where the Templar sits 41st with a 22/10/8 match record and 19,228 Rank Points. Losing every Artifact is not a dead end either, since a separate Corridor opens at the losing faction’s base that only the disadvantaged side can enter.
The field bosses that follow a siege
Reshanta’s named Hero-rank field bosses appear according to set weekly schedules, using server time, and can drop Abyss gear sets. Those in Lower Reshanta are level 65; the Middle Reshanta bosses are level 80. Each boss guarantees refining stones and draws from the shared Earth and Vagabond gear pool. The rarer ones also drop Epic-grade Vowed weapons and unique artwork.
| Boss | Layer | Level | Spawn (server time) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lower Reshanta | 65 | Sun, Fri 21:00 | |
| Middle Reshanta | 80 | Sun, Fri 21:00 | |
| Lower Reshanta | 65 | Mon, Thu, Sat 21:30 | |
| Lower Reshanta | 65 | Mon, Thu, Sat 21:30 | |
| Middle Reshanta | 80 | Mon, Thu, Sat 21:30 | |
| Middle Reshanta | 80 | Mon, Thu, Sat 21:30 | |
| Middle Reshanta | 80 | Mon, Thu, Sat 21:30 |
Executor Kaira stands out for dropping Balaur’s Essence at 43.4%, on top of the shared refining-stone and gear pool. The two Guardian Lord Nahma bosses each carry a 25% chance at a Heroic Colossus and Artwork reward, while Dramos, Ducal and Marakha each have a 25% shot at the Draupnir artwork. Because the Executors spawn 30 minutes after the Monday, Thursday and Saturday siege window, those nights pack the siege and the boss rush into the same stretch of the Abyss.
What the Templar brings to the fight
The Templar is built around the Longsword and fills the Tank role, with 36 total skills across its regular and Stigma lists. In a crowded siege that frontline toolkit matters more than raw damage. Its Stigma options include Grapple for pulling enemies, Doom Shield and Noble Armor for absorbing incoming hits, and Taunt for pulling aggro and cutting enemy damage. Warding Strike and Punishment round out the kit, the latter offering self-healing on hit, which helps a lone Templar survive when no Cleric is nearby.
That is the loop the Abyss Artifact Siege runs on. Show up before the countdown, race the enemy faction to the Dimensional Cores, hold as many Artifacts as you can for the Abyss Point buff and the Corridor runs, and expect to spend a chunk of the match flying back from a respawn. Win or lose, the siege feeds straight into the boss spawns that follow and the Abyss Points that pay for the PvP upgrades waiting in the Trade Shop.
