Is Jingran Worth Pulling in Wuthering Waves? (Version 3.6)

A clear breakdown of Jingran's HP scaling, the 50,000 HP requirement, and the accounts that gain the most from him.

A clear breakdown of Jingran’s HP scaling, the 50,000 HP requirement, and the accounts that gain the most from him.

Jingran is the new 5-star Fusion Broadblade Main DPS in Wuthering Waves, added in the second phase of Version 3.6. He is one of the rare damage dealers whose power comes from Max HP instead of ATK, and that single trait decides whether he fits your account. The pull question comes down to one thing above all else: whether you are willing to chase his signature weapon.

Quick answer: Pull Jingran if you lack a strong Fusion DPS and plan to grab his signature broadblade, the Thousandfold Deliverance. Skip him if you do not want that weapon and have no other 5-star broadblade, or if you already own a well-built Aemeath.

What Jingran is and how he deals damage

Jingran is a limited 5-star with the Fusion attribute who fights on the field as the primary carry. His damage scales off Max HP rather than ATK, and almost all of it lands as Fusion Heavy Attack damage. He switches between a Yin and a Yang stance through enhanced Heavy Attacks, builds Qi through his normal attacks and skills, then spends that Qi on powerful Heavy Attacks.

His passives turn HP into real offense. More Max HP grants extra Fusion DMG Bonus, a large Incoming Healing Bonus, and bonus ATK. He also generates his own shields, which feed his kit and synergize with teammates who create shields. The catch is that his DEF is fixed at 0, so he is fragile and leans on healers and shielders to survive.

The 50,000 HP requirement decides everything

Jingran’s kit unlocks its full value only at a 50,000 Max HP threshold. His Heavy Attack multipliers scale for every 1,000 HP above 25,000, up to a cap of 25,000 extra points, which is where the 50,000 number comes from. Reaching it also maxes out his self-buffs: up to 75% Fusion DMG Bonus, up to 310% Incoming Healing Bonus, and up to 1,800 extra ATK.

Here is the problem. Hitting 50,000 HP is only comfortable with his signature weapon, the Thousandfold Deliverance, which is the one broadblade that lets you reach the breakpoint while still running a strong crit setup. Without it, his damage falls off noticeably, and you have to rebuild his echoes to chase HP at the cost of crit stats.

Strengths and weaknesses

When fully invested, Jingran sits among the strongest Fusion DPS units in the game and rivals the top of the current meta. His flexibility is a real selling point, since his damage comes mostly from Heavy Attacks and he works in both single-target and AoE content.

StrengthsWeaknesses
One of the highest Fusion DPS outputs at release, on par with AemeathVery high investment to reach 50,000 HP, especially without his weapon
Heavy Attack focus gives a wide pool of compatible buffersDEF fixed at 0 makes him fragile; he needs shields and healing
Multiple viable weapon options and flexible team buildingHis signature weapon creates a large performance gap over alternatives

Who should pull and who should skip

Pull Jingran if you are missing a dedicated Fusion DPS and are prepared to invest in his signature weapon. With the Thousandfold Deliverance and his best supports, he becomes a high-value carry that competes with the strongest units on the roster.

Hold back in these cases:

  • You do not want to spend on his signature weapon and have no other 5-star broadblade such as the Thunderflare Dominion or a comparable option.
  • You already own a well-invested Aemeath, since both perform at roughly the same level as pure Fusion DPS units.
  • You would rather save for later characters like Hsin and Suoming.

One more point worth weighing. Jingran’s kit leans on older-style mechanics and does not include Tune Shifting or Negative Status effects that show up in current endgame cycles. His HP scaling and high multipliers make him competitive now, but that gap is worth keeping in mind if you plan around future patches.

Teams that get the most out of him

Because he scales on HP, traditional ATK% buffers lose value on Jingran. The best partners supply Heavy Attack amplification, Fusion DMG, crit, shields, and healing that works independent of ATK. Iuno is his standout support, since her Outro lands a 50% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification window and her Full Moon Domain converts his shields into strong All DMG Amplification.

Team directionPartnersWhy it works
Premium Heavy AttackIuno, ShorekeeperIuno amplifies his biggest damage window and turns shields into damage; Shorekeeper heals and buffs crit without wasting ATK stats
Mono-Fusion quick-swapChangli or Lupa, ShorekeeperOff-field Fusion damage and Fusion amplification; Lupa reinforces the mono-Fusion identity
Accessible / F2PMortefi, BaizhiMortefi deepens Heavy Attacks and adds off-field Fusion hits; Baizhi keeps the fragile carry alive with a universal buff

Keep him on the field. Jingran rewards long field time and shield uptime, so avoid hyper-swap rotations that pull him away too often. If you have no premium supports, the Mortefi and Baizhi core is enough to clear Tower of Adversity and Whimpering Wastes while you save for Iuno or Shorekeeper.

Weapon and echo priorities if you do pull

The Thousandfold Deliverance is his best-in-slot weapon because it adds Max HP, stacks Crit DMG when he gains shields, and grants DEF ignore on his Heavy Attacks. Strong alternatives include the Thunderflare Dominion, Verdant Summit, and Ages of Harvest, with the 4-star Aureate Zenith as a budget pick.

The Lamp of Nether Road 5-piece rewards his constant shield generation with stacking Crit Rate and a Fusion DMG Bonus, while the Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis adds Fusion DMG and Heavy Attack DMG and deals damage based on his Max HP. Aim for around 125% Energy Regen so his Heavy Attack loop stays consistent.

The decision is really a budget question. If you are ready to commit a character banner and a weapon banner to him, Jingran becomes a durable, self-sustaining Fusion carry that clears endgame content comfortably. If you cannot commit to the weapon and already have a Fusion answer on your account, there is little pressure to pull him now.
