Jurassic Genesis: How to Get Giganotosaurus With the Dominion Unleashed Badge

Giganotosaurus is locked behind a badge in Jurassic Genesis, and no amount of grinding currency will hand it to you. The only way in is a two-part trigger: touch a hidden T. rex skull somewhere on the island, then survive the arena fight it drops you into. Do both, and the dinosaur permanently appears in your Carnivores list.

Quick answer: Touch the hidden T. rex skull to teleport into the boss arena, then fully deplete the health bar of Zeb, the apex Giganotosaurus, with your pistol. That awards the “Dominion Unleashed” badge and unlocks Giganotosaurus under PLAY → DINOSAURS → Carnivores.

What the Dominion Unleashed badge requires

The badge has exactly two conditions, and they have to happen in order. The skull is the trigger, and Zeb is the gate. Nothing else — no level, no purchase, no code entry — factors into the unlock.

You can start the hunt as either team. Playing as a human gives you access to the vehicle spawners, which makes crossing the island much faster. Playing as a small, quick dinosaur like a Velociraptor is the better option if you want to comb through bushes at speed. Either way, the game moves you into the arena as a human with a firearm once the skull is touched.

How to find the T. rex skull

The skull is small, dull-colored, and deliberately tucked out of sight. Two spots reliably hold it: a rocky ledge up in the grassy hills past the bridge, and inside the bushes near the concrete structures at the edge of the Redwoods facility. Running as a human from the Docks spawn is the cleanest route.

From the main menu, click PLAY and pick HUMANS on the team select screen. When the spawn list appears, choose Docks. You’ll drop inside a building with an on-screen prompt telling you to find the T-Rex skull.

Run outside and look for the red vehicle spawner pad. The menu offers an ATV, a G-Wagon, and a Jeep Wrangler. Spawn the G-Wagon or the Jeep — both handle the hills fine.

Drive across the island, cross the bridge, and climb the grassy hill on the far side. The skull sits exposed on a rocky ledge here, so approach slowly and scan the rocks rather than barrelling past them.

Get out and walk directly into the skull. Touching it is the whole interaction — the screen fades to black and you’re teleported straight into the boss arena.

Tip: If you’re searching the Redwoods version instead, swap to a Velociraptor first. The extra speed makes checking every bush along the facility perimeter far less tedious.

How to beat Zeb, the apex Giganotosaurus

The arena is a walled grassy enclosure with nowhere to hide, and Zeb comes with a full boss health bar. The objective text spells it out: defeat Zeb to earn the badge and unlock Giganotosaurus. You arrive holding a pistol, and that’s the tool for the job.

Immediately start backing away from Zeb the moment you land. Closing the distance is what gets players killed here, since the boss hits hard in melee range.

Fire the pistol continuously while circling the arena edge. Use sprint to reset the gap whenever Zeb closes in, then resume shooting from range.

Keep going until the boss health bar empties and Zeb collapses. Getting knocked out is not a run-ender — re-enter the arena and continue chipping away. The fight can take several attempts, and the damage you land still counts toward finishing it.

How to confirm the badge unlocked

There are two confirmations, depending on the version you’re in. A “Badge Awarded” notification pops in the bottom-right corner the instant Zeb hits the ground. In v1.1.0 you’re also kicked out of the experience with a moderation message that reads: “You defeated Zeb and obtained the Dominion Unleashed badge! (Enter Code: 2187)”. The kick is intentional, not an error.

Note the code 2187 before you rejoin. The REDEEM CODE option sits right on the main menu alongside PLAY, STORE, SETTINGS, CREDITS, and PATCH NOTES.

How to play as Giganotosaurus

Rejoin the game and click PLAY, then choose DINOSAURS on the team select screen. Under the Carnivores tab you’ll find Giganotosaurus sitting alongside Tyrannosaurus, Megalania, Ceratosaurus, and the rest of the meat-eaters. If it still shows as locked, back out to the menu and rejoin — the roster refreshes on a fresh session.

Its in-game description is short and self-satisfied: “Biggest carnivore the world has ever seen, at least in dominion.” The stats back that up.

The Smoldering Giganotosaurus skin listed in the selection panel is a separate unlock tied to its own badge, “Strike Me Down!”, so earning Dominion Unleashed gets you the Default variant.

Why the unlock does not trigger

Only a handful of things actually block this. Walking near the skull is not enough — your character has to make contact with it, which is why the bush placement catches people out. And the badge fires only when Zeb’s health bar reaches zero, so retreating from the arena or being knocked out without finishing the boss leaves you with nothing.

You passed the skull without physically touching it.
You left the arena or died before Zeb’s health bar emptied.
You’re checking the HUMANS roster instead of the DINOSAURS → Carnivores tab.

Once the badge is on your account, it stays there. You can hop between spawn points, teams, and maps freely — Giganotosaurus remains selectable every time you load in.
