Keep the Door Locked (Anomaly): How to Get the Ritual Ending

The exact choices on Night 10 that hand you the Weird Granny key, the forbidden door, and the Ending 3 badge.

The exact choices on Night 10 that hand you the Weird Granny key, the forbidden door, and the Ending 3 badge.

The Ritual is one of four possible conclusions in Keep the Door Locked (Anomaly), and it is a deliberate bad ending. It only becomes available if you turn down the Front Desk manager’s exit key on the final night and instead accept a key from the Weird Granny NPC. Take the wrong option at either moment and this path closes for the entire run.

Quick answer: Survive all 10 nights, refuse the manager’s exit key by choosing “Lock the Door,” then pick “Open Door” when the Weird Granny offers her key. Use that key on the “Begin Ritual” door in the hallway and walk into the ritual room to trigger the ending and earn the Ending 3 badge plus 15,000 Cash.

What the Ritual ending gives you

Reaching this ending awards the Ending 3 badge and 15,000 Cash, which you can spend on upgrades. The cutscene that grants the badge plays automatically once you enter the main ritual room, so there is no separate confirmation step to worry about.

Before Night 10: survive the full run

The Ritual ending is only reachable after you make it through all 10 nights in the hotel room. That means following the rules the Front Desk manager reads out over the telephone, surviving each night’s anomalous events, and turning away visitors that are anomalies while letting genuine humans shelter with you before you sleep.

Note: at least one non-anomaly resident must be sleeping in your room when you go to bed, otherwise the Bathroom Monster will attack you during the night. Keep that habit up right through to the tenth night so the run does not end early.

The two Night 10 choices that unlock the Ritual

On Night 10, wait for the Front Desk manager to knock and offer you the key to leave the hotel. Do not accept it. Select the “Lock the Door” option so the manager walks away, and the night continues as normal.
After a short wait you will hear a second knock. This time it is the Weird Granny, who offers a key to a door that is off-limits to everyone. Choose the “Open Door” option to accept her key.

What plays out in the ending

Your character walks into a room drowned in darkness, lit only by a strange red glow that throws shadows across the walls. As you move deeper, skulls are laid out across the floor, leading toward a central summoning circle.

The circle then ignites with dark energy, and a skeleton rises from it and attacks. The game states that you have become part of the ritual, which in effect means your character is turned into one of the monsters.

Why the ending sometimes fails to trigger

The single most common mistake is refusing the Weird Granny’s key. Without it you cannot open the forbidden door, and the Ritual path is lost for that run. Accepting the manager’s exit key instead sends you down a different ending entirely, so hold firm on “Lock the Door” first, then “Open Door” second.

If you have the key but the door will not open, make sure you are interacting with the correct keylock, the one labeled “Begin Ritual” in the hallway. Once you descend the stairs and reach the ritual room, the badge is yours, and you can start a fresh run to chase the other three endings.
