Keep the Door Locked: How to Get All Four Endings

Exact triggers, doors, and rewards for The Hallway, The Truth, The Ritual, and Escape Route in Story mode.

Exact triggers, doors, and rewards for The Hallway, The Truth, The Ritual, and Escape Route in Story mode.

Story mode in Keep the Door Locked has four separate endings, each tied to its own trigger and its own reward. They are The Hallway, The Truth, The Ritual, and Escape Route. Reaching any of them awards a matching badge plus a one-time Cash bonus, so completionists need four clean runs rather than one.

Quick answer: Survive 10 in-game days for The Hallway; take the Golden Skeleton’s key, call the Front Desk, sleep, then walk through the “Enter Truth” door for The Truth; take the Weird Granny’s key and enter the “Begin Ritual” door for The Ritual; let the Man with the Katana into your room and open the curtains when the Window Creeper appears for Escape Route.

All four endings, triggers, and rewards

Each ending is its own research goal. Chase one per run instead of stacking secrets into a single night, because mixing triggers makes it hard to tell which action counted. Public award rates run from common for The Hallway to extremely rare for Escape Route.

The Hallway ending (survive 10 days)

The Hallway is the standard ending and the easiest to reach. You do not need any special item or door. Just play the night loop correctly and reach the end of day 10.

Run each night cleanly. Check the cameras and peephole before every knock, follow the room rules, and keep suspicious visitors out.
Protect your sanity across the run so a long streak isn’t cut short. Ordering pizza restores sanity and is a reliable way to stay stable through the escalating days.

After day 10, a chase sequence begins with an Anomaly right behind you. Follow the path to its end. There is no exit, and the monster corners you, which closes out the run and awards the Ending 1 Badge with 15,000 bonus Cash.

The Truth ending (Golden Skeleton key)

The Truth is a rare ending built around the Golden Skeleton, which appears in-game as “???”. You take its key, use the wall phone, and pass through a hallway door the next day.

Fetch the key from the Golden Skeleton (“???”). Keep your normal survival discipline intact while you search, since lookalikes still show up.
Call the Front Desk using the phone on the wall, then sleep to move to the next day.
Exit the room and head into the hallways. Find the door marked “Enter Truth” and walk through it to trigger the ending, which grants the Ending 2 Badge and 15,000 bonus Cash.

The Ritual ending (Weird Granny key)

The Ritual traps your avatar in a room with a ritual circle, watched over by a strange old woman. It hinges on accepting a key from the Weird Granny NPC rather than turning her away.

Take the key offered by the Weird Granny. Camera checks still matter here, so do not open for every visitor that resembles her.
Head out into the hallways and enter the door marked “Begin Ritual.” That leads straight into the ending and awards the Ending 3 Badge with 15,000 bonus Cash.

Escape Route ending (Man with the Katana)

Escape Route is the rarest ending and the only one that pays out 20,000 Cash. It pairs a risky trust choice with sharp timing on the window, so listen closely for the audio cue.

Allow the Man with the Katana into your room. He stays next to your bed for a short while instead of attacking.
Wait for the Window Creeper to appear outside, signaled by an audio cue, then open the curtains.
The Man with the Katana fights the Window Creeper and breaks through the window, opening your escape. This runs directly into the ending cutscene and awards the Ending 4 Badge with 20,000 bonus Cash.

How to confirm an ending unlocked

You know an ending registered when its cutscene finishes and the matching badge is awarded, along with the Cash bonus for that route. Each badge is tied to one specific final outcome, so a single missed step, such as skipping the “Enter Truth” door or opening the curtains at the wrong moment, forces a fresh run. Chase one ending at a time, keep the survival routine intact, and the four badges follow.
