Keep the Door Locked is a Roblox survival-horror game set inside a haunted hotel room, where your only job is to decide who gets in. Each night a visitor shows up at your door. Let the right one in and you sleep, recover, and move on. Let the wrong one in and the run ends instantly.
Quick answer: Check the laptop security footage before opening the door. If the visitor’s character model looks altered or something is wrong in the corners of the frame, lock the door. If they look normal, let them in and sleep to end the day.
How the night loop works
The game is split into days. Your avatar cannot sleep alone in the room, so every night you have to let a visitor in before you can rest and recover part of your Sanity Meter. Sleeping ends the current day and starts the next.
Visitors come in two kinds. Regular humans are safe to admit, at which point you can sleep and close out the day. Anomalies are not. Letting an anomaly through the door immediately ends the run and shows a game over screen. When you spot an anomaly, the correct move is to lock the door instead of opening it.

Spotting anomalies is straightforward once you know where to look. Interact with the laptop on the desk to bring up the security camera feed, then study the visitor before making any decision. A single mistake ends the run, so it is worth checking the whole frame every time.
- Look for an altered character model. Anything visibly off about the visitor is a reason to deny entry.
- Scan the corners of the footage. On rare occasions the warning sign appears at the edge of the frame rather than on the visitor.
- Early on the differences are obvious. They get more subtle the longer your run continues, so trust careful observation over speed.
You know you made the right call when the anomaly’s dialog text turns red after you deny it. That color change confirms you correctly locked out a threat.

Controls
| Action | Input |
|---|---|
| Movement | W, A, S, D |
| Interact | E |
You use the interact key to check the laptop, answer the door, and trigger any actions that special events ask for.
Story mode vs. Endless mode
There are two modes to pick from, and they change how far a run can go.
| Mode | How it works |
|---|---|
| Story | Focused and limited to a set number of days. Survive to the end to see a special ending cutscene. |
| Endless | Keeps going until you make a mistake that ends the run. |
Story mode can be completed without spending on any premium elements, so surviving several nights is achievable with careful play alone.
Managing the Sanity Meter
The Sanity Meter tracks your avatar’s mental state. It drops during tense, uncomfortable moments and refills when you sleep. If it empties completely, you get a game over just as you would from admitting an anomaly.
Because sleep is the main way to recover, correctly clearing each night and resting is what keeps the meter from bottoming out over a long run.
Cash and upgrades
You earn Cash at the end of a run, which you spend on upgrades from the vendor in the hub area. Upgrades improve stats such as movement speed, Sanity, and flashlight brightness, and they matter most when you are pushing for longer runs.
Each stat can be upgraded up to 10 times, and every upgrade costs at least 1,250 Cash. That makes the late-game grind fairly long, so expect to bank several completed runs before maxing anything out.
Special encounters and event vendors
Every so often a special encounter breaks the normal door routine and forces a different action. This can mean restoring power, hiding under the bed, or something else tied to the event that triggers. When one starts, follow the on-screen directions to get through the sequence.
During event periods, a dedicated event vendor appears in the hub world. You can buy items from them such as Revives, Sprays, and Sanity Pills, which give you extra tools to stretch a run further.
Once you have the routine down, the whole game comes down to discipline. Check the feed, deny anything off-model, sleep to protect your Sanity, and reinvest your Cash so each run pushes closer to the ending and out of the hotel alive.
