Backpack storage in Magic Loot [Beta] controls how many materials you can carry out of a Dungeon run before you hit the cap. You raise that cap by completing Collection Index targets, not by buying an upgrade, so every new material you discover pushes you toward another slot.

Quick answer: Open the Index, check the target (for example, Complete 7/9 to get +1), enter the Dungeon and pick up materials you have not collected yet, then return and claim the chest reward in the Index to add one backpack slot.

How the Collection Index raises backpack storage

The Collection Index tracks every material type you have picked up. Each milestone shows a small target such as Complete 7/9 to get +1 or Complete 10/13 to get +1. Reaching that count of collected materials unlocks a reward you can claim, and claiming it increases backpack storage by one slot.

Only new, undiscovered materials count toward the target. Picking up duplicates of something already logged in the Index does not move you closer to the next slot, so the goal is variety rather than quantity.

Increase your backpack storage in Magic Loot

Open the Index menu from the main area. Look at the Collection Index and note your current count, such as Currently Collected: 7/40, and the next target listed above the reward chest.
Enter the Dungeon and clear stages while watching for materials you have not logged yet. Defeated enemies drop items like Goblin Finger, Copper Earring, and Furnace Core, and you pick them up to add them to the Index.
Keep looting until you have grabbed enough new materials to hit the target count. Progressing deeper into stages, such as Stage 3 and Stage 5, exposes you to material types that lower stages do not drop.
Return to the main area and open the Index again. Click the chest icon at the bottom right to claim the reward for the completed target.
Confirm the storage gain and repeat for the next milestone. Each claimed target adds a single slot, so you cycle back into the Dungeon for more new materials to reach the following target.

You can launch the Beta from the official Magic Loot game page on Roblox if you need to jump straight in.

How to confirm the slot was added

When a claim works, the game shows a “Backpack storage increased by 1” message and your capacity value ticks up, for example from 0/4 to 0/5. The chest for that target also disappears from the Index, and the next milestone (such as 10/13) becomes the one you work toward.

Index progressTarget shownResult after claim
7/40 collectedComplete 7/9 to get +1+1 backpack slot
10/40 collectedComplete 10/13 to get +1Storage rises, e.g. 0/4 to 0/5

Why the reward will not claim

If the chest icon stays locked, your collected count has not reached the listed target yet. Re-check the number in the Index, because looting duplicates you already own leaves the count unchanged.

Note: The Index counts material types across the whole collection, so a target like 7/9 means you need nine distinct materials logged, not nine copies. Prioritize the Dungeon stages that still hold materials missing from your list, then head back and claim the slot.
