Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt: How to Unlock the Kingpin Hidden Boss on Extreme

Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt: How to Unlock the Kingpin Hidden Boss on Extreme

Clearing Dracula in Blood Hunt's thirteenth phase looks like the end of the run, but it isn't. A secret fight with Kingpin waits behind three hidden objectives scattered across the mode's earlier phases, and missing even one locks the true ending out for that attempt.

🗝️
Quick answer: Complete the hidden objectives in phases 4, 7, and 12 to collect three golden keys, then defeat Dracula in phase 13. You'll be teleported to Times Square to fight Kingpin.

What triggers the Kingpin fight

The secret boss only appears if every hidden objective is cleared during the same run. Each completed objective drops a golden key, visible in the top-left of the screen next to the difficulty indicator. Three keys plus a Dracula kill is the full trigger.

If you stop after Dracula without all three keys, the run simply ends on the victory screen. There is no partial reward and no retry inside the same attempt.

Phase 4: The bridge barrier

The timer starts the moment the phase begins, and 90 seconds is tight if you try to fight through every enemy. Skip the mobs. The target is a dome-shaped barrier at the far end of the bridge.

Step 1: Move straight down the bridge and ignore enemy spawns unless they block your path. Mobility-heavy heroes clear this one fastest.

Step 2: Focus fire on the dome barrier at the end. Concentrated damage brings it down well inside the window.

Step 3: Step into the target point right after the barrier breaks. The first golden key appears in the top-left once the phase registers the completion.

Phase 7: The Bloodclot Buds

No timer here, which makes this the most forgiving objective, but the count scales with squad size. A solo player needs to destroy one bud, a duo needs two, and a full four-player team needs four.

The buds look like glowing red, flower-shaped growths tucked around the ruins area. They stand out against the environment once you start scanning for them, so sweep the edges of the map rather than sticking to combat lanes.

🌸
Tip: Split up if you're in a squad. The buds are spread across the area and searching as a group wastes time you'll need later in phase 12.

Phase 12: The sealing magic circle

This is the hardest of the three. Blood crystals keep spawning around the magic circle, and you have 120 seconds to destroy enough of them to break the seal. Enemies continue to pressurize you the entire time.

Step 1: Ignore regular enemies the moment the phase loads. Every second spent on mobs is a second not spent on crystals.

Step 2: Rotate between crystal spawn points and burst them down as they appear. AoE and burst-damage heroes shine here.

Step 3: Keep breaking crystals until the sealing circle shatters. The third golden key appears, and the phase ends.

What happens after Dracula

With all three keys secured, finishing Dracula in phase 13 does not roll credits. The screen transitions, and the squad is teleported to Times Square for a new phase featuring Kingpin as the actual final boss. Wilson Fisk, who narrates the mode throughout, turns on the players he had been guiding.

How to beat Kingpin

Kingpin hits hard, but his kit is readable once you know what to watch for. Two of his attacks can one-shot an unprepared player, so recognizing the telegraphs matters more than raw DPS.

AttackHow it killsCounter
Cane tranceLocks you in place, followed by a beam that one-shotsMash movement inputs (WASD or left stick) to break out before the beam fires
Shield bubble AoELeaps up, lands in a bubble, then detonates a massive area blastGet behind solid cover before the explosion goes off
ChargeStraight-line rush with heavy damageKeep distance and strafe; don't stand still

Outside those three, Kingpin is fairly predictable. Stay mobile, maintain consistent damage from range, and use the Times Square geometry for cover during his ultimate windup. His health pool falls quickly once you stop eating telegraphed attacks.

Rewards and the Extreme achievement

Defeating Kingpin on Extreme difficulty unlocks the Kingpin Dethroned accessory, which is tied to the Blood Hunt achievement list. A golden variant of the reward exists for players chasing higher difficulties, tied to shard drops from Nightmare 20 and above. Shard drops are random, so expect a longer grind for the cosmetic upgrade.

Before pushing Extreme for the achievement, clear the mode on the lower two difficulties first to learn the objective locations and the Kingpin phase timings. The hidden objectives behave the same across difficulties, so the patterns you learn on lower tiers carry up.

Common reasons Kingpin doesn't appear

  • A hidden objective was skipped or timed out in phase 4, 7, or 12.
  • Phase 7 buds weren't all destroyed for the current squad size.
  • Phase 12 crystals weren't cleared before the 120-second window closed.

If the run ends at the Dracula victory screen, one of the keys is missing. Check the top-left indicator during the run — if you don't see three keys before entering phase 13, Kingpin will not spawn and the attempt needs to restart from the beginning of Blood Hunt.
