The Sentinel Prototype is the mechanical boss you face during the mission For Our Future, and it hits far harder than its half-size frame suggests. This is not a parry fight. Winning comes down to reading its arm attacks, dodging at the right moment, and tearing into the exposed wiring behind its forearm panels.
Quick answer: Wait for the Sentinel to plant an arm, then attack the panel on its forearm to expose the wiring and strike that. Dodge every attack instead of parrying, and use the R1 prompt to call Mystique for a stagger.

Core rules for the Sentinel Prototype fight
Two things decide this fight. First, the only real damage window opens after the Sentinel slams an arm into the ground and leaves it there. Target the forearm panel, not the hand, to crack it open and reach the wiring underneath. A white dot marks the spot when you need help finding it.
Second, forget parrying. It worked against Omega Red, but here it will only get Logan hurt. Dodge sideways or run to the back of the arena to survive, and stay mobile so you are never standing in one place long enough to be crushed.
Watch for the R1 prompt to appear in front of the machine. Pressing it calls in Mystique, who shoots the Sentinel and fully staggers it for a moment, giving you a stretch of free hits. It tends to pop after you have chipped off a chunk of health, especially right after its laser eyes attack.
Equip the Relentless Special Technique before the fight. When charged, it gives Logan a quick boost to health regeneration, which helps you survive the long gaps between damage windows.

Add to Google Preferences →Phase one: Inside the hangar
The fight opens inside an industrial hangar after a conversation with Trask. The Sentinel’s moveset is limited here, and your damage feels slow, so patience matters more than aggression.

- Laser eyes — It leans its head forward and fires beams that reach about halfway across the arena. Dodge to the side or run to the far back. Do not try to parry it.
- Fist slam — It lifts an arm as a warning, then slams down and holds the arm there. This is your main opening, so move clear and then punish it.
- Ground punch — It raises an arm and throws an accurate punch at your position. Dodge as it comes in and do not try to attack.
- Fist bump — Get too close and it claps both fists together to squash you. Dodge out; there is no attack window here.

Phase two: Outside with Sabretooth
The fight spills outside, where Sabretooth joins Logan and Mystique. The arena is a little smaller, and the Sentinel adds new ranged attacks. The plan stays the same: wait for an arm to come down, break the panel, expose the wiring, and keep hitting it. Call Mystique with R1 whenever the prompt shows.

- Laser shots — On top of the long beams, it fires quick, accurate laser bursts. Keep moving around the area to avoid them.
- Rockets — Orange targets mark the ground where rockets will land. Run to the far side and stay out of every marked zone.
- Aggressive high five — It flattens a hand and smashes down several times in a row. Keep dodging to the side until the sequence ends.
Do not stand in the open when the palm charges. Take cover behind the truck before the beam fires or the fight ends with Logan flattened.
Finishing the Sentinel and confirming the win
Keep attacking the arm and climbing the mech each time the prompt appears. After enough damage, Mystique fires an anti-mech launcher into its face and Logan leaps up to rip out its optical and sensory core.
At that point Trask triggers a core overload from his control room. Sprint up the fallen Sentinel and drive your claws into the central chest reactor to disable it, then jump clear as it collapses into a contained implosion. When the closing cutscene plays, the fight is confirmed over and the mission continues.
