Arc System Works built Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls around a 4v4 tag format, so the launch roster is the part that decides who you actually take into a match. The full base lineup is now set, mixing top-tier Marvel names with deeper-cut picks that have never appeared in a fighting game before.

Quick answer: Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launches with 20 playable characters divided into five teams. The game releases for PC, PS5, and PS4 on August 6, 2026.

Full launch roster by team

The 20 fighters are grouped into five preset teams of four, each led by a marquee character. You are not locked into these groups, though. Once you start mixing your own four-character lineup, the game generates a custom team name based on your point character, which is purely cosmetic and does not change how anyone plays.

How the roster was chosen

Producer Takeshi Yamanaka laid out three filters for the selection. The team wanted recognizable “faces” of Marvel, a spread of battle types and styles, and a few surprises, including characters who had never been playable in a fighting game. That mix is why locks like Captain America and Iron Man share the cast with deeper picks such as Danger, the embodiment of the X-Men’s Danger Room, and Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider.

DLC plans: Year 1 Character and Stage Pass

The 20-character roster is the starting point, not the ceiling. A Year 1 Character and Stage Pass is already confirmed, bundling four additional fighters and one new stage. There is no confirmed reveal date for those characters yet, and it is not yet stated whether more passes will follow.

Release date and platforms

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls arrives on PC, PS5, and PS4 on August 6, 2026. All 20 base characters are available from launch, so the roster above is what you can build your four-fighter teams from on day one, with the Year 1 pass adding to it afterward.
