Moonlighter 2: How to Find the Night Realm’s Hidden Treasure in Kalina

Kalina’s Night Realm hides a recipe chest that most runs walk right past. Unlike the Day Realm treasure, which sits off the blacksmith room, this one is tucked into the healing room at the tail end of the route, and it only opens after a fight.

Quick answer: Run Kalina in the Night Realm, take the route to the healing room (the “Therapeutic Onsen” node directly before the boss), head to the right side of that room and step into the green portal, then clear every enemy wave to unlock the chest holding the Bio-Buddy recipe.

Night Realm’s Hidden Treasure quest details

Eris hands out the Hidden Treasure quests as you unlock new areas, and each one arrives as a riddle rather than a map marker. The Kalina version points at an event room, which is why the objective text alone never gets you there. Open the Tasks tab in the quest menu and the entry sits there with its description and objective, no coordinates attached.

Switch Kalina to the Night Realm

Go to the portal hub in town and select Kalina. The realm toggle is part of the same interaction, so don’t confirm the run yet.

Flip the destination from Day Realm to Night Realm. This is the single most common mistake, since the Day Realm version of Kalina holds a completely different secret behind the blacksmith room.

Enter the portal and start the run. You’ll spawn in Kalina’s Night Realm and get a choice of three perks — Rebound is one of the options that can appear. None of them are required for the treasure, so take whatever suits your build.

Route to the healing room with Tomo’s Radar

Node layouts are randomized each run, so the treasure depends on picking a branch that ends at the healing room rather than dropping you straight into the boss. Plan the whole path before you commit to the first node.

Open Tomo’s Radar and read the branch structure ahead of you. You’re looking for a chain that terminates at the node sitting directly before the boss encounter.

Work through the run along that branch, clearing rooms as normal. Nothing along the way changes the treasure, so speed matters more than detours here.

Arrive at the healing room. It’s easy to identify — a green pool sits in the middle and restores health, which is why players know it as the spa or Therapeutic Onsen.

Tip: heal first. The portal drops you into a fight with no way to top up once it starts.

Clear the portal waves and open the chest

From the healing pool, move to the right-hand corner of the room. A green portal sits there, separate from the exit that carries you to the boss.

Step through the portal. Unlike the trap gauntlets attached to the other regions’ treasures, this one is a combat arena built around a raised circular platform.

Fight through every wave of enemies. The chest in the room stays locked until the last enemy is down, so there’s no way to grab the reward early.

Open the chest to collect the Bio-Buddy recipe, then head back and continue the run or bank your loot.

Confirming the treasure counted

Two things tell you it landed. The chest opens and hands over the Bio-Buddy recipe, and the quest entry under Tasks updates to reflect the treasure being found. If the chest is still shut, waves are still pending, or something is left alive in the arena.

Why players miss this treasure

Running Kalina’s Day Realm instead. The Day Realm secret is a separate quest with its own reward, tied to the blacksmith node marked by a hammer icon.
Skipping the healing room. If the branch you pick bypasses the spa node before the boss, the portal isn’t reachable on that run.
Not searching the right side. The portal sits in the corner, away from the obvious route through the room.
Dying mid-arena. The waves have to be finished in one go for the chest to unlock.

Because Kalina’s layout reshuffles every run, a bad branch draw can put the healing room out of reach entirely. If that happens, there’s nothing to salvage — bail out or push to the boss, then start a fresh Night Realm run and route for the spa node from the first pick.
