Howling Harbor is the second region of the Aeolia biome, and it takes more setup than any earlier area in the game. You cannot reach it straight from the adventure circle. Instead, it opens only after you recruit an NPC named Julien and work through a short chain of his missions. The whole process is tied to progress, not skill, so the key is doing the right actions in the right order.
Quick answer: Bring Julien to Tresna, beat the Zephyr Fields boss, then take Julien’s “Souls Forever Lost” mission, run Kalina’s Night Realm, and finish that mission. When Julien then offers “Souls Forever Lost 2,” Howling Harbor unlocks on the adventure circle.

Requirements before Howling Harbor can unlock
Three things must be in place before the region will appear. Each one gates the next, so you cannot skip ahead.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Voice Beyond quest | The portal hand that spawns Julien only appears after you receive this quest. |
| 500 gold | Paid to the hand to bring Julien out of the portal and into Tresna. |
| Zephyr Fields cleared | You must complete a full run of Zephyr Fields, including its final boss. |

Clear Zephyr Fields and start Souls Forever Lost

Finish the quest chain to open the region

How to confirm Howling Harbor is unlocked
Open the adventure circle right after taking Souls Forever Lost 2. The second region of Aeolia now shows up as a travel destination. If you can select and enter it, the unlock worked.
Why Howling Harbor won’t unlock
If the region still isn’t showing, one of these is almost always the reason.
- You spoke to Julien at night. He is asleep and will not trigger the next quest, so always talk to him after sleeping into daytime.
- You have not yet cleared the Zephyr Fields boss, which blocks the Souls Forever Lost mission.
- You skipped the Kalina Night Realm run. That trip is what lets you complete Souls Forever Lost and move on to the second mission.
- You are behind on the main story. Meeting The Endless Vault’s relic-selling milestones is what pushes overall progression and keeps new regions appearing.
- You have not accepted Souls Forever Lost 2 yet. The harbor only appears once that specific mission is in your log.
What you’ll find inside Howling Harbor
Like every region before it, Howling Harbor is built around Bloblets, craftable recipes, a hidden treasure, and its own boss. You reach it through the portal realm menu and travel in as you would any other adventure.

The region’s hidden treasure sits behind an event question mark node featuring Anacard, the challenge character. From that node you drop behind the platform, ride a set of ziplines out to a green portal, and enter a self-contained challenge room.

Inside, the treasure run is a platforming section across timed purple platforms, switches, and more ziplines. Clearing it and opening the chest at the end grants the Nimbus Regalia recipe.

Pushing through the region eventually brings you to its unique boss. Beating that final fight awards the King’s Right Mask, the counterpart to the King’s Left Mask you earned from the Zephyr Fields boss.

With both regions of Aeolia open, the harbor becomes a repeatable destination for its recipes, treasure, and boss rewards whenever you return to the adventure circle.
