Mortal Shell 2: How to Cleanse the Ovate’s Chamber Beacon

The Ovate’s Chamber Beacon sits inside the Conquered Temple region of Mortal Shell 2, and cleansing it opens the Pilfered Crypt dungeon. Like every Beacon, it restores the Harbinger’s Health and Resolve, updates your respawn point, and hands over Ova once the corruption is cleared.

Quick answer: From Droeg’s route, defeat Urrig, use the Jumping Pad, follow the path upstairs to the elevator, and ride it up to reach the Beacon. Enter it, clear the snowy Pilfered Crypt, beat Eredan’s Sycophants, then hold the interact prompt on the giant corrupted Ovum to see “BEACON CLEANSED.”

Where the Ovate’s Chamber Beacon is located

The Beacon is found at the top of the elevator that leads to Droeg’s arena. To get there, you first need to work through the approach to that fight and defeat the miniboss Urrig along the way. The Beacon itself is corrupted when you arrive, so you can rest at it, but you cannot cleanse it until you clear the dungeon behind it.

How to reach the Beacon

Progress along Droeg’s route and defeat Urrig, the Executioner. This clears the path forward toward the elevator.

Use the Jumping Pad after Urrig is down. Follow the path upstairs until you reach the elevator.

Ride the elevator to the top. The Ovate’s Chamber Beacon is waiting at the top, still corrupted.

Clear the Pilfered Crypt and beat Eredan’s Sycophants

Choosing to cleanse the Beacon drops you into the Pilfered Crypt, a short dungeon that starts in a stone corridor and opens onto a snowy exterior. You have to clear its enemies and the boss encounter before you can reach the Ovum at the end.

Move through the stone corridor and step out into the snow. A group of heavy, axe-wielding enemies attacks as you enter the open area. Deal with them before pushing forward.

Trigger the boss fight against Eredan’s Sycophants. This is a multi-enemy encounter rather than a single opponent, so try to separate them and fight a few at a time instead of getting surrounded.

Once the Sycophants are defeated, continue along the path to the large, dark organic structure at the end. This is the corrupted Ovum.

Cleanse the Beacon and claim the Ovum

Approach the giant corrupted Ovum and select “Cleanse Corruption” to finish the dungeon. Hold the interact prompt to complete the action.

You know it worked when the screen shows “NEW OVUM FOUND” and then “BEACON CLEANSED.” You are also prompted to collect a Glimpse and return to Twiner. From this point on, the Beacon offers its full set of resting options and no longer blocks nearby loot.

Note: This is Beacon #31 out of the game’s full set, so cleansing it counts toward clearing every Beacon. If you skip it, none of the Beacons are missable. You can return in free-roam after the final boss and cleanse anything you left corrupted before starting New Game+.
