Murder Mystery 2 in The Hunt: Roblox 20 – How to Get Knife-Dodger’s Bighead

Everything the 2014 slot asks for: eight earlier eras, one hub race, and 50 coins across normal rounds.

Everything the 2014 slot asks for: eight earlier eras, one hub race, and 50 coins across normal rounds.

In The Hunt: Roblox 20, Murder Mystery 2 occupies the 2014 entry, and its assignment is among the least demanding. You are not asked to reach a kill total, win a match, or receive a particular role; collecting coins is enough. The complication comes from the hub’s reward-unlocking progression rather than MM2 itself.

Quick answer: Clear every era from 2006 through 2013, finish the short 2014 hub race, then collect 50 coins across normal Murder Mystery 2 rounds and claim Knife-Dodger’s Bighead at the 2014 pedestal.

What Knife-Dodger’s Bighead is

Knife-Dodger’s Bighead is a free UGC avatar accessory, a blue Big Head with knives stuck into it. It goes to your Roblox avatar inventory, not your Murder Mystery 2 loadout, so do not expect it to show up as a weapon or a tradeable item in the game itself.

The Murder Mystery 2 badge also counts as one of the 20 badges available across the event, which feed the hub’s wider reward thresholds.

Clear every era before 2014 first

The Hunt: Roblox 20 unlocks its years in order, so you cannot drop straight into the 2014 checkpoint and cash out. Eight experiences sit ahead of Murder Mystery 2, and if any of them is unfinished, the reward stays locked even with 50 coins banked.

YearExperience
2006Crossroads
2007Sword Fights on the Heights IV
2008Rocket Arena
2009Chaos Canyon
2010Work at a Pizza Place
2011Natural Disaster Survival
2012Base Wars
2013Apocalypse Rising 2

All of this runs through the official The Hunt: Roblox 20 experience, which acts as the hub linking every era together. Collecting the coins is quick; working through these eight is what actually eats your time.

Run the 2014 hub race before the coins count

Once 2013 is done, head to the 2014 area of the hub. There is a short sprint course to clear there before the Murder Mystery 2 objective opens up.

Find the quest NPC, Nikilis, in the 2014 area and talk to them to start the race. Accept the prompt to begin the lap.

Follow the course across the platforms, walkways and snowy stretches back toward the start. Run over the yellow-striped strips as you pass them, since each one gives you a speed boost.
Speak to Nikilis again at the finish to hand in the lap. The Murder Mystery 2 portion of the 2014 slot becomes available once that dialogue closes.

If you plan to keep pushing into later years, the race has to be run again to move the hub progression forward.

Collect 50 coins in Murder Mystery 2

Enter Murder Mystery 2 via the event route, then select the Roblox 20 event quest icon. Its tracker says “Collect coins around MM2 maps to complete this quest” and begins at 0/50.

During a standard match, collect the gold coins by stepping onto them wherever they appear across the map. Your chosen role is irrelevant: Innocent, Sheriff, and Murderer each add coins identically.

Keep sweeping rooms, hallways, staircases and the quieter corners of the map. Other players are picking up the same coins, so moving beats camping one spot, and staying alive as Innocent gives you a longer window.

If you get killed, stay in the server. Your credited coins are already banked, so wait for the next round and keep going until the tracker reads 50.

Coin rules worth knowing

  • The quest needs 50 coins in total, counted across rounds rather than in one match.
  • Normal play caps you at 40 coins per round, so most players finish in two matches.
  • Dying does not reset anything — the counter keeps whatever you already picked up.
  • Winning the round is irrelevant to the quest.
  • The Elite gamepass enlarges your coin bag, which is the only way to close it out in a single round. It is optional.

Map rotation does not matter either. Factory, Office and the rest all spawn the same pickups, and only the running total counts.

Confirm the badge, then claim at the 2014 pedestal

Hitting 50 registers the Roblox 20 quest badge automatically. You will see a “Badge Awarded” notification and an event quest completion window telling you to head back to the hub. Give the server a moment to record it before you leave, especially if the notification is slow to appear.

Return to The Hunt hub, go back to the 2014 checkpoint, and press E at the Murder Mystery 2 pedestal to claim Knife-Dodger’s Bighead. The item appears on the pedestal as you take it, and the award notification confirms it landed on your account. Check your avatar inventory if you want a second confirmation; claims can lag slightly at peak times.

If the pedestal returns “Failed to claim” or “Failed to check badges. Try again soon!”, something upstream is unfinished. The usual causes are the 2014 hub race not being handed in, or one of the 2006 to 2013 eras still being incomplete. Clear whichever is missing and the claim goes through.

Codes cannot be redeemed for The Hunt, and badges are not available for purchase. A scam is what you are dealing with if an account offers badge boosting, event items, or early access links.

The Retro Bundle and 2014 maps are not part of the quest

Murder Mystery 2’s anniversary update also added the Retro Bundle, a paid set of seven classic-styled weapons. None of it affects the coin quest or the free accessory, and these are not the original Vintage weapons, which is worth keeping in mind if you trade.

No quest requirement points to any one of the returning 2014 Hotel, 2014 Office, or 2014 Hospital maps; all three can appear through the normal rotation and are optional. With the update, the shop changed too: Robux can no longer buy the Summer Box, so Summer items like Ice Cream are available only through trading, whereas the Beachy and Sans bundles, along with their Chroma variants, remain permanently available.

Once the Bighead is claimed, the hub opens the 2015 stage, Lumber Tycoon 2, and the run continues from there. The Hunt: Roblox 20 stays live through September 28, 2026, and since the Murder Mystery 2 reward sits behind eight earlier eras, it is worth starting those now rather than leaving them until the final days. The coins take about ten minutes; the road to them does not.
