Nates Blade is a sword-shaped fishing rod in Fisch, built to look like the Demon Blood Sword from Adventure Time and created by the game’s owner, Woozy Nate. It has spent most of its life locked behind admin events and codes, so the rod was unavailable to anyone who missed those windows. That changed with Version 2.05, the Nate’s Quest update, which turns the rod into a reward you earn by finishing a long story mission.
Quick answer: Nates Blade is now a permanent quest reward in Fisch Version 2.05 (Nate’s Quest), released October 10, 2026. It is no longer tied to the Black Market or a redemption code.
What the Nate’s Quest storyline involves
The questline is framed as a rescue. Nate has been kidnapped by an envious rival named Dr. It Fish, leaving his cat Miso behind at a hideout called Nate’s Cave on Sunstone Island. The mission runs across three changelog chapters, and the footage shows all of them from start to finish.
The investigation at Nate’s Cave
Everything begins inside Nate’s Cave, where Miso leads the player upstairs to a computer that asks for a four-digit code. The PIN is solved by reading numbered symbol plaques scattered around the room, pairing each symbol with a value from one to four. Entering the code plays a video that reveals the abduction and opens the next objective.

Restoring the blade
Crafting this weapon takes two components. In Crimson Cavern, fish the glowing red water to land the Crimson Centerpiece as a special catch. The Broken Blade lies unattended on the cavern floor near the Rod of the Depths. Reach it by going through the Vertigo whirlpool and The Depths Maze, using relics to unlock the path gates. Bring both pieces to the desk in Nate’s Cave and forge the Restricted Nates Blade.

The rod is still restricted until you finish the fishing trials known as Relive the Trailer: make 10 perfect catches at Moosewood Docks, make 10 perfect catches of fish ranked Mythical or below in Roslit Volcano, then catch 20 Colossal Squids with Nates Blade in Snowcap Cave.

After the trials comes a much longer checklist, A Nostalgia Trip, which asks the player to revisit the game’s launch content. It is the most time-consuming part of the whole quest.

- Use Nates Blade to catch all 126 fish from the original launch.
- Land five fish apiece using all 15 original fishing rods.
- Obtain every original Title (45 total, including an Albino fish from the Albino Vendor).
- Collect all 10 original boats and all 11 original lanterns.
- Unlock all 30 original badges and enchant 21 times.
- Witness all 8 original weather types and modifiers.
Tracking Nate and the final showdown
With the blade’s abilities reawakened, Miso hands over clues pointing to the Desolate Deep. The trail runs through three of Nate’s belongings, which have to be collected in order before the lair opens.
- Nate’s Crown, sitting on top of the Desolate Deep Buoy.
- Nate’s Glasses, on the ground beside a warning sign.
- Nate’s Lantern lies beside crates near a wall with a crack.

Striking the cracked wall with Nates Blade breaks open Dr. It Fish’s Lair. The confrontation is resolved through dialogue rather than a fight. Choosing the peaceful options talks Dr. It Fish out of his plan, Nate is freed from a back cell, and he insists the player keep the blade. Finishing the conversation awards Nate’s Car, unlocks Miso as a companion, and fully unrestricts the rod. That inventory update is how you know the quest is complete.

Add to Google Preferences →Nates Blade stats and passives
The rod is classified as a high-end late-game fishing rod with one of the strangest stat lines in Fisch. It reads as zero base Control, which looks like a weakness until you see how its passives cover it.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 119% |
| Luck | 244% |
| Control | 0 (30% bar width) |
| Resilience | 44% |
| Max Weight | Infinite kg |
| Line Distance | 444m |
The control bar starts at just 30 percent of the reeling minigame and steadily grows wider the longer you reel a fish, so the zero Control figure becomes less of a problem the deeper you get into a catch. On top of that, every catch carries a stack of bonuses.
- +50% Progress Speed on every catch.
- +100% weight on all fish caught.
- Guaranteed mutation at equal odds — Lumpy, Rockstar, or Bubblegum, each now a 4× multiplier after the Version 2.05 change from 2×.
- With each fish movement, there is a 25% chance to slash, adding +6% progress and stunning the fish for 0.35 seconds.
The Adventure Time references run through the whole kit. The growing control bar is Jake the Dog, the three mutations point to Lumpy Space Princess, Marceline, and Princess Bubblegum, and the slashing sound effect is Finn’s scream from the episode “Ocean of Fear.”
Skins for Nates Blade
Several skins exist for the rod, and the Version 2.05 update added a new one tied to completing the quest itself. The others came from the Black Market and from codes during the rod’s earlier runs.
| Skin | Source |
|---|---|
| Default | Base rod |
| Nates Ultimate Legendary Find | Special condition (Version 2.05) |
| White Blade | Black Market (200,000,000 C$) |
| Scarlet | Code |
| Long Pike | Code |
Recommended enchants once you own it
The enchant choice splits by what you want from the rod. One path pushes raw C$ income, the other maximizes fish weight when paired with mutation baits, and each has a fallback for when you lack a specific relic.
| Goal | Enchants |
|---|---|
| Maximize C$ income | Anomalous + Tryhard (Abyssal if you lack the Exalted Relic) |
| Maximize fish weight | Greed + Sea Prince (Sea Overlord or Sea King if you lack the Twisted Relic) |
| Preserve mutation baits | Scrapper |
How the rod was obtained before Version 2.05
Before becoming a quest reward, Nates Blade was available for purchase during the Black Market admin event. For brief periods, a shopkeeper NPC appeared on an island beside Moosewood. Its price dropped across patches, starting at 3,000,000,067 C$ at launch and reaching 200,000,000 C$ before the rod was removed from the shop. Later, the code NickNatestage105 granted the blade; once that code was pulled, it became unobtainable again.
A later patch lowered Luck from 444% to 244%. Listings that show the earlier stat or the three-billion price describe the rod’s initial state, not its current one.
Nates Blade obtained by either earlier method remains in your inventory permanently and cannot be traded; ending the event or removing the code does not take it away.
With the quest now live, Version 2.05 gives every player a reliable way to add the rod without relying on an admin event or a code. Finishing the Nate’s Quest storyline is the one method that works going forward, and the fully unrestricted blade lands in your inventory the moment the final conversation with Nate wraps up.
