Neverness to Everness launched globally on April 29, 2026 with a compact starting roster split between S-Class and A-Class agents. Each character belongs to one of six Esper attributes (Chaos, Psyche, Anima, Cosmos, Incantation, Lakshana), uses one of five Arc weapon types (Liquid, Synthesis, Solid, Plasma, Gas), and fills a Damage, Buff, or Survival role. The list below covers every playable character available in Version 1.0, plus the limited and confirmed upcoming additions.
Quick answer: Version 1.0 has 15 playable characters. Six are S-Class standard (Baicang, Daffodil, Fadia, Hathor, Jiuyuan, Sakiri), six are A-Class (Adler, Aurelia, Edgar, Haniel, Mint, Skia), one is the protagonist Esper Zero (S-Class, free), one is Chiz (S-Class, free via Tycoon), and one is the current limited S-Class, Nanally. Hotori joins on May 13, 2026 as the second limited banner.
S-Class characters in Neverness to Everness
S-Class agents are the rarest pulls and carry the kit complexity, signature Arc weapons, and Awakening upgrades that define the meta. The standard pool currently holds six S-Class units, and you receive one free S-Class Selector after progressing the gacha system.

| Name | Esper | Arc | Role | Affiliation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Baicang | Incantation | Synthesis | Damage | Bureau of Anomaly Control |
| Chiz | Cosmos | Gas | Damage | Unnamed Bank |
| Daffodil | Chaos | Liquid | Damage (Sub-DPS) | Eibon Antique Shop |
| Esper Zero | Cosmos | Solid | Damage | Eibon Antique Shop |
| Fadia | Psyche | Synthesis | Survival | Bureau of Anomaly Control |
| Hathor | Lakshana | Plasma | Damage | Sterry Express |
| Jiuyuan | Anima | Solid | Damage | Sterry Express |
| Nanally (limited) | Anima | Plasma | Damage | Eibon Antique Shop |
| Sakiri | Incantation | Gas | Buff | Eibon Antique Shop |
Daffodil is currently the only Chaos-attribute unit in the standard pool, which makes her required for activating Psyche, Incantation, and Discord-based Esper Cycle reactions. Esper Zero functions as the protagonist and can be played in either male or female form once you complete the "In the Reflection" side quest.
A-Class characters in Neverness to Everness
A-Class units are easier to acquire and frequently appear as free rewards through the story, pre-registration milestones, and event clears. They scale well at higher Awakening levels but generally serve as supports or sub-damage in endgame teams.

| Name | Esper | Arc | Role | Affiliation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adler | Incantation | Synthesis | Survival | Eibon Antique Shop |
| Aurelia | Psyche | Plasma | Damage | — |
| Edgar | Cosmos | Liquid | Survival (Healer) | Eibon Antique Shop |
| Haniel | Psyche | Solid | Buff | Sterry Express |
| Mint | Anima | Liquid | Damage | Bureau of Anomaly Control |
| Skia | Lakshana | Gas | Damage | Bureau of Anomaly Control |
Haniel is the most flexible A-Class buffer and pairs naturally with Chaos units to enable her Nova Enhancement passive. Adler shields the active character but does not scale with attack buffs, so support pieces like Haniel and Sakiri have limited effect on his damage.
How to unlock each character
Several characters are handed out for free as you progress through the main story, the City Tycoon mode, and pre-registration rewards. The rest must be obtained through the gacha banners.
| Character | Unlock method |
|---|---|
| Esper Zero | Obtained at the start of the game as the protagonist |
| Mint | Free through main story progression |
| Adler | Free through main story progression |
| Haniel | Free via the 30 million pre-registration milestone (with extra Awakening copies) |
| Chiz | Free through the City Tycoon system, with copies and her signature weapon awarded as Tycoon level rises |
| S-Class Selector | One free S-Class from the standard pool (Baicang, Daffodil, Fadia, Hathor, Jiuyuan, Sakiri) after progressing the gacha system |
| Standard pool S/A-Class | Permanent banner pulls, Board chests, and rainbow road space rewards |
| Limited S-Class | Time-limited banners (currently Nanally; Hotori begins May 13, 2026) |
Aurelia was added shortly after launch and is now part of the obtainable A-Class roster. Pre-registration rewards must be claimed in-game through the mailbox before they expire.
Limited and upcoming characters
Limited S-Class characters do not enter the standard pool and only appear during their own banner windows. Two limited banners run during Version 1.0.

| Banner | Character | Esper | Arc | Window |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | Nanally | Anima | Plasma | April 29 – May 13, 2026 |
| Phase 2 | Hotori | Cosmos | Solid | May 13 – June 3, 2026 |
Hotori is the proprietress of the Eibon Antique Shop and is built around a time-stop mechanic that works in both combat and town exploration. She is described as a burst DPS who also boosts overall team damage and uses an Umbrella Katana as her signature weapon.
Lacrimosa, an S-Class Chaos character affiliated with the Bureau of Anomaly Control, is the next confirmed limited unit after Hotori. Her banner is expected to open the patch that follows Version 1.0 on or after June 3, 2026, but no official banner dates have been confirmed yet.
Esper attributes and Esper Cycle pairings
Team building in Neverness to Everness depends on triggering Esper Cycle reactions between two attributes. Knowing each character's Esper makes it easier to build damage cycles such as Nova, Scorch, Discord, Hexed, Remora, Blossom, and Charge.

| Esper | Characters |
|---|---|
| Chaos | Daffodil, Lacrimosa (upcoming) |
| Psyche | Aurelia, Fadia, Haniel |
| Anima | Jiuyuan, Mint, Nanally |
| Cosmos | Chiz, Edgar, Esper Zero, Hotori |
| Incantation | Adler, Baicang, Sakiri |
| Lakshana | Hathor, Skia |
Because Daffodil is currently the only Chaos unit in the standard pool, she is the easiest gateway into Nova, Scorch, and Discord teams. Lacrimosa will give Chaos teams a second option once her banner goes live.
Roles at a quick reference
Roles in Neverness to Everness map cleanly to team slots. A typical endgame team runs one main DPS, one sub-DPS or buffer, and one survival or secondary buff piece.
| Role | Characters |
|---|---|
| Damage (Main/Sub DPS) | Aurelia, Baicang, Chiz, Daffodil, Esper Zero, Hathor, Jiuyuan, Mint, Nanally, Skia |
| Buff | Haniel, Sakiri |
| Survival | Adler, Edgar, Fadia |
Edgar is the only dedicated healer at present. Adler and Fadia provide shielding and damage-sharing instead, which generally fits better into damage-heavy compositions than pure healing.
The Version 1.0 roster is intentionally small, with most characters filling a clear niche tied to their Esper attribute and Arc type. New limited additions like Hotori and Lacrimosa are expected to broaden the Cosmos and Chaos rosters first, and the standard pool will continue to anchor team-building until further patches arrive.
