Lost Tales is one of three daily divinations offered by Blackbird at the Witch's House in Neverness to Everness. When chosen, it sends you to a specific spot in Hethereau where a side quest exists but never appears on your map. Clearing that hidden quest grants a reward, after which the divination slot is consumed for the day.
Quick answer: Visit Blackbird at the Witch's House, pick Lost Tales as your daily fortune, travel to the location she marks, and trigger the hidden quest there by interacting with the object or NPC at that exact spot. The quest will not show on the world map; only the divination's pin will.

What Lost Tales is in NTE
Lost Tales is a divination, not a permanent quest line. Blackbird, the witch who lives in the Witch's House, offers one of three readings each day. Lost Tales is the option that points you toward an off-map side activity. The other two readings are Bless, which applies a flat 15% attack buff to your team for the day, and Treasure Hunt, which marks the location of an undiscovered Oracle Stone.
Only one divination can be claimed per day. Choosing Lost Tales replaces the buff or the Oracle Stone hint for that reset, so the choice is mutually exclusive.
Witch's House location and access
The Witch's House sits on the south side of Bridge Crossings, in a fenced clearing at the corner of Fox Window Street and Coastal Highway. It is southwest of the Bridge Crossings Wertheimer Tower. Fast travel to that tower, open the map, and track the blue crystal ball icon nearby. From there it is a short climb up stairs and fences to a two-storey house with a round window and a pointed roof.
You must have unlocked the Witch's House questline and turned in at least one batch of Oracle Stones to Blackbird before divinations become available. Oracle Stones are scattered across Hethereau, often near crows, and over 200 exist in the open world.

How to trigger a Lost Tales quest
Step 1: Travel to the Witch's House and speak with Blackbird. Choose the divination option from her dialogue rather than the Oracle Stone exchange.

Step 2: Select Lost Tales from the three readings. The game will place a marker on your map indicating the area where the hidden quest exists.
Step 3: Fast travel as close as possible to that marker, then approach the exact pin on foot. The quest itself will not appear in your quest log until you trigger it on site.
Step 4: Search the immediate area for an interactable object, NPC, or environmental cue. Lost Tales locations frequently include props such as eggs, signs, audio sources, or unusual objects. Interacting with the correct one starts the quest.
Step 5: Complete the quest objective the NPC or object gives you, then return to collect the reward through the in-game prompt or your mailbox.

Finding the hidden quest at the marker
The pin Blackbird gives you is an area indicator, not a precise objective marker. Once you arrive, the hidden quest behaves like any unmarked side activity in the open world. A few patterns help locate it:
- Look for objects that stand out from the environment, such as a single egg-shaped item, a discarded note, or a glowing prop.
- Listen for ambient audio cues. Some Lost Tales require you to follow a sound to its source.
- Check NPCs standing alone or repeating an animation. They often hold the trigger dialogue.
- Use the in-game time switch if the area looks empty during the day, as some triggers only appear at night.
If nothing reacts, walk a small radius around the pin. The marker covers a zone rather than a precise coordinate, so the trigger can be a few meters off in any direction.

Daily divination comparison
| Divination | Effect | Best used when |
|---|---|---|
| Lost Tales | Marks a hidden side quest with a reward on completion | You have time for a short detour and want extra resources |
| Bless | Flat 15% attack buff to the team for the day | Planning to clear story bosses or hard Anomaly Zones that day |
| Treasure Hunt | Reveals one undiscovered Oracle Stone location | Few stones remain in your current region and you want to finish the area |
Rewards and verification
Completing a Lost Tales quest pays out resources tied to general progression rather than rare gacha currency. Common drops include Annulith, Hunter EXP, Beetle Coins, and Fons, with the exact mix varying per quest. The reward is delivered automatically when the quest closes, and the Witch's House divination slot turns inactive until the next daily reset at 5:00 AM UTC+8.
You will know the quest registered correctly when an objective banner appears on screen as you reach the pin and a quest entry shows up in your tracker. If neither appears, you have not yet stepped on the trigger.

Common reasons Lost Tales does not start
- You picked the divination but never traveled to the marked location, so the hidden quest never spawned on your client.
- The trigger requires a specific in-game time of day and you are visiting in the wrong window.
- You walked past the interactable without engaging it. The pin is broad, not pinpoint.
- An active main story quest is blocking the area. Finish or pause the conflicting objective before returning.
Lost Tales is meant as a light daily detour rather than a major quest line. Treating it as a five-to-ten-minute side stop after collecting Oracle Stones keeps the routine efficient, and rotating between Lost Tales, Bless, and Treasure Hunt across the week covers buffs, exploration progress, and bonus materials without overspending stamina.
