Dreamless Seed is the single resource that powers Life Skill upgrades in Neverness to Everness. Every character has a Life Skill on their Esper Ability page, and the only way to raise it is by feeding in Dreamless Seeds together with a small amount of Fons. Because the seed has no other purpose, the question for most players is simply where it drops and how fast it can be stockpiled.
Quick answer: Open the Exploration Guide each day, hit 100 Participation score, and claim 4 Dreamless Seeds from the daily reward track. Supplement that with Property Renovation Guide goals, Cafe Management Guide phase rewards, and the Hunter Exchange shop tied to City Tycoon level.

What Dreamless Seeds do
Life Skills are a separate passive on each character, accessed through the Esper Ability page. They mostly affect City Tycoon systems, like the Cafe by Origen, by changing dish prices, ingredient consumption, tip behavior, and similar economy modifiers. Esper Zero is the exception: her Life Skill, Paragon, raises Affection gained from gifts while a character's Bond Level is still low, which speeds up bond progression on every other character you own.
Each Life Skill has five levels, and the cost climbs with each rank. A single character needs 56 Dreamless Seeds in total to fully max one Life Skill slot, broken down across the upgrade steps below. Fons are also spent at every step, so keep a small reserve on hand.
| Life Skill level | Dreamless Seeds required |
|---|---|
| Lv. 1 → 2 | 2 |
| Lv. 2 → 3 | 4 |
| Lv. 3 → 4 | 10 |
| Lv. 4 → 5 | 16 |
| Lv. 5 → max | 24 |
| Total per slot | 56 |
A second Life Skill slot is visible on each character sheet, but is not populated in version 1.0, so seeds spent today only fill the first slot.

Daily farm: Exploration Guide Participation
The Exploration Guide is the only repeatable, no-luck source of Dreamless Seeds. Open the in-game phone, tap the Exploration Guide, and look for the Participation Tasks panel. Each daily task adds Participation score, and the track has milestones that reset every day. The 100-point milestone gives 4 Dreamless Seeds, alongside Fons, Beetle Coins, and Annulith from other thresholds.
Step 1: Open the Exploration Guide from the phone menu and switch to the Participation tab. Confirm the daily reward track shows the Dreamless Seed icon at the 100-point node.
Step 2: Clear daily commissions, anomaly events, and side activities until your Participation reaches 100. Most players cross the threshold by completing two or three commissions plus a short Anomaly Zone run.
Step 3: Tap the 100-point milestone to claim the 4 Dreamless Seeds. The seeds appear immediately in your inventory under upgrade materials, which is the confirmation that the daily reward registered.
At 4 seeds per day, a single character's full upgrade (56 seeds) takes about two weeks of dailies in isolation, which is why most progression strategies layer in the secondary sources below.

Property Renovation Guide
The Property tab unlocks at City Tycoon Level 5, starting with the Wiener Apartments for 200,000 Fons. Each property you buy comes with a Renovation Guide, a checklist of decorating and furniture goals tied to that home. Hitting renovation tiers pays out Fons, Anomaly Furniture, Annuliths, and Dreamless Seeds. Additional properties open up at higher Tycoon levels, so the seed payout from this source scales with how far you push the City Tycoon track.
Treat property goals as a one-time bulk source. They are not repeatable, but each new property and renovation phase delivers a meaningful chunk of seeds in one go.
Cafe Management Guide phase rewards
Once you own and operate the Cafe by Origen, the Cafe Management Guide tracks long-term phase milestones. Reaching new phases pays out Dreamless Seeds, among other materials. Running the cafe also helps indirectly, because Mint, Adler, Aurelia, Haniel, and other characters carry Management Skills that improve cafe revenue when their Life Skill levels are higher, which feeds back into the Fons you need for further upgrades.

Hunter Exchange shop
The Hunter Exchange unlocks at City Tycoon Level 6, after 1,328,600 Fons in lifetime earnings and completion of Chapter 3 of the Explorer's Guide. Inside, Fons can be spent on Dreamless Seed bundles that refresh on the shop's countdown cycle. Stock is gated by City Tycoon level, with new tiers added at every odd level from 9 to 27 and again at 30. Typical Dreamless Seed offers in the shop are bundles of six seeds for a low Fons cost, with multiple stocks per cycle.
Because most items in this shop replenish at the end of each Shop Countdown, sweeping Dreamless Seed listings every cycle is a low-effort way to compound the daily Exploration Guide income.

Spending priority
Esper Zero should be the first character maxed. Her Life Skill increases Affection gained from gifts while a target character's Bond Level is at or below a certain threshold, which directly accelerates the long Affinity grind across your roster. Until Esper Zero's Life Skill is at Level 5, every other Life Skill is a lower-priority spend.
After Esper Zero, the next best targets are the characters who actually work shifts in your cafe. Mint, Adler, Aurelia, and Haniel each have Management Skills that scale with Life Skill level and translate directly into more Fons per cafe cycle. Spreading seeds evenly across multiple cafe staff gives a larger combined payout than fully maxing a single non-priority character.
To upgrade a Life Skill, open the character menu, go to Esper Ability, select the Life Skill node, and confirm the upgrade. The level number ticks up and the Dreamless Seed count drops in the inventory, which confirms the upgrade went through.
Common reasons the upgrade doesn't trigger
- Not enough Fons to cover the secondary cost on the upgrade screen.
- The Life Skill is already at the current cap for your character's Ascension or Awakening tier.
- You are looking at the unpopulated second Life Skill slot, which cannot accept seeds in version 1.0.
Dreamless Seeds will keep arriving long after your immediate upgrade needs are met, especially if you log in for the Exploration Guide every day. Treat the daily 4-seed reward as the floor, lean on Property Renovation and Cafe Management phases for bulk drops, and clear Hunter Exchange stock whenever Fons are spare. That mix is enough to keep Life Skill progression moving without ever needing to spend premium currency on the material.
