The Sunward Travelogue is the limited-time event added with Neverness to Everness Version 1.1 Dreamwalk Corridor. Its core task asks you to complete the Strange Tales on Sunni Island, and there are nine of them. Most are gated behind a specific in-game time, weather state, NPC spawn, or small map interaction, which is why they fail to trigger if you arrive under the wrong conditions.
Sunward Travelogue event window and rewards
The event is live now and stays open until July 8, 05:59 (UTC+8). Progress is measured by how many Strange Tales you complete on Sunni Island, and finishing them pays out event currency and upgrade materials.

Requirements before starting the Strange Tales
Sunni Island is locked behind the Version 1.1 main story. You need to play through the Dreamwalk Corridor episode, which itself opens only after you finish A Research in Scarlet. Until that point, the island and its event tasks are unavailable.
Once you have access, activate the Sunni Island ReroRero Phone Booth. It works as the central fast-travel point, and most Strange Tale routes are written to begin from there.
The Time System is the other tool you will rely on constantly. Several tales only trigger in the morning, at night, in sunny weather, or in rain, so you will adjust the clock and weather repeatedly during your run. Do not skip dialogue too fast on NPC-triggered tales, since rushing past lines can stop a tale from registering.

The Drowning Tourist Strange Tale
Step 1: Teleport to the Sunni Island ReroRero Phone Booth. Head northeast and move down toward the road below.
Step 2: Summon a vehicle and ride downhill. Turn left when you hit the road and keep following it until you spot a set of stairs on your right that lead down to the beach.

Step 3: Near the stairs, speak with the mother and child NPCs. After the conversation ends, set the time to 08:00 the next morning and choose Sunny weather.
Step 4: If the same mother and child remain and no new NPC has appeared, enter a Character Trial and exit it. A tired-looking tourist should now spawn close by. Talk to him, then swim out into the sea.

Step 5: Let your stamina drain in the water. When white bubbles appear, stay inside that bubble zone and swim in small circles. Drifting too far breaks the trigger, so keep tight.
Step 6: After the cutscene, you are returned to shore. Talk to the mother again to close out the tale.

The Tunnel Strange Tale
Step 1: Right after the drowning event, set the time to 22:00 so the island is at night.
Step 2: Return to the road and summon a motorcycle, scooter, or any rideable vehicle.
Step 3: Ride west into the tunnel. Travel a short way inside, and the tale triggers on its own. The condition that matters here is entering the tunnel at night while mounted on a vehicle.

The Bell Strange Tale and the final Golden Tree turn-in
The bell completes one Strange Tale on its own, and the offshore island turn-in finishes the Golden Tree Strange Tale that begins earlier in your run.
Step 1: After the music-door Strange Tale, walk west to the house entrance, turn right, and glide down. Look for a platform below holding a bell.

Step 2: Land on the platform and interact with the bell. Ringing it clears that tale. Each ring also changes the island's weather, which is handy if you need a specific weather state to finish any leftover tales.

Step 3: From the bell area, glide northeast toward the beach. Summon a scooter or motorcycle and ride along the coast toward the small offshore island to complete the Golden Tree turn-in.

Fixing Strange Tales that will not trigger
Most of the difficulty in the Sunward Travelogue comes from hidden triggers, time and weather checks, and NPCs that fail to refresh. If an NPC does not appear or you cannot interact with it, work through these fixes in order.
- Change the in-game time and weather again to match the tale's exact requirement.
- Enter any Character Trial, then exit, to force NPC and map states to reload.
- Restart the game if the state still looks stuck.
- If a quest is being auto-tracked, cancel the tracking and try the trigger again.

You will know a Strange Tale is done when its cutscene or dialogue resolves and the tale is marked complete in your event progress. Reaching all nine completions unlocks the full set of Sunward Travelogue rewards, including Annulith, Elite Hunter Guides, Chaotic Dye, and Expansion Cores.

Set your time and weather before approaching each trigger, keep the ReroRero Phone Booth as your home base, and lean on the Character Trial reset whenever an NPC stalls. With those habits, the full set of Sunni Island Strange Tales can be cleared in a single tour of the island well before the event closes on July 8.
