Coastal Bay Crocodile Skin is a rare hide in Once Human that drops from crocodiles and feeds into armor crafting. It does not come from a quest or a vendor. You get it by hunting crocodiles in the wild and getting lucky with the drop.

Quick answer: Track Crocodile under Resource Tracking on the World Map, go to the flooded shoreline south of Meyer’s Market in Broken Delta, kill crocodiles, and press F on each carcass until the skin drops.

Coastal Bay Crocodile Skin location: Broken Delta near Meyer’s Market

Crocodiles always spawn next to water, so look along rivers, beaches, and shorelines. The most dependable spot on the Manibus and Evolution’s Call map is the coast south and southeast of Meyer’s Market in the Broken Delta region. Harborside, a flooded settlement in that area, has several crocodiles spread through its waterlogged streets and buildings.

  • Region: Broken Delta, around coordinates (6291, -6859)
  • Region recommended level: 15
  • Crocodile level in this area: about 12
  • Variants seen here: Eclipse Crocodile and Crocodile Hatchling

The crocodiles here sit around level 12, which makes them safe even for newer characters. They move quietly through shallow water, though, so keep an eye on your flanks while wading.

On The Way of Winter map, Eclipse Crocodiles also appear inside the aquarium room in Wish Land East, which shows crocodile icons alongside rams, wolves, bears, and flamingos.

Track crocodiles with Resource Tracking

You don’t need to guess where crocodiles are. The World Map can mark their spawn clusters for you.

Open the World Map. Scroll to Broken Delta so you can see Meyer’s Market and the coastline south of it.
From the menu on the left, open Resource Tracking. You’ll find it below Camp Function, with the Ores, Crops, and Animals categories inside.
Expand Animals and select Crocodile, then set it to track. Crocodile spawn clusters now show up as markers on the map.

Travel to the marked spot along the water south of Meyer’s Market. A vehicle saves time, but crocodiles often sit on the far riverbank, so expect to wade the last stretch on foot.

Kill and harvest crocodiles for the skin

Search the banks for crocodiles. Their health bars read “Crocodile Lv.12” in this area, and Eclipse Crocodiles are the ones worth prioritizing.
Kill the crocodile with any firearm. An assault rifle drops a level 12 Eclipse Crocodile quickly.
Walk up to the carcass and press F when the interact prompt shows the crocodile’s name. This harvests whatever it dropped.

You’ll know it worked when the loot feed lists Coastal Bay Crocodile Skin (1) next to the meat. A successful Eclipse Crocodile harvest looks like Crocodile Meat (2) plus Coastal Bay Crocodile Skin (1). If you only see Crocodile Meat and Crocodile Hide, you got the standard drop and need to keep hunting.

Coastal Bay Crocodile Skin drop rate and farming respawns

The drop rate is low. Coastal Bay Crocodile Skin is a special hide tied to specific crocodile variants and traits, so most kills give you ordinary Crocodile Hide. A Crocodile Hatchling in the same Broken Delta spot, for example, yields regular meat and a standard hide.

The fix is repetition. Clear every tracked crocodile in the area, then either wait for them to respawn or move to the next marked cluster along the coast. Broken Delta works well for this because the spawns are packed close together and the crocodiles die fast.

Coastal Bay Crocodile Skin is one of several trait hides in the game, alongside items like Beach Crocodile Skin, Cave Bear Skin, and Wasteland Wolf Skin. They all stack in your inventory as separate materials from the basic hides.

Taming crocodiles for trait hides

Special skins can also come from tamed animals. A captured crocodile kept in your territory produces crocodile meat, hides, and eggs, and if it rolls the right trait, it can produce that variant’s skin. That depends on luck with the animal you catch.

  • Bring Tranquilizer Throwing Needles before heading out.
  • Damage the crocodile until its HP drops below the white line on its health bar.
  • Throw a tranquilizer dart, then pick up the sleeping crocodile into your inventory.
  • Use it with F inside your territory and supply food and water, such as fish, large animal meat, or Meat Pellets Feed.
  • At 50% tameness, you can gather from it.

Coastal Bay Crocodile Skin armor bonuses and stats

The skin is a high-quality armor material. Gear crafted with it gets Epic-level HP and Enhanced Psi Intensity, plus a bonus that depends on which armor slot you use it in. These bonuses show at the Gear Workbench when you pick the hide as a crafting material.

Since you can’t buy or sell it, every Coastal Bay Crocodile Skin you use comes from your own hunting or your own tamed crocodiles. It weighs almost nothing and stacks to 1000, so carry every one you find back to base and save them for the armor pieces where the slot bonus matters most.
