Reign of Talon Season 4: Heroes of Busan is live, and it brings the biggest shake-up of the season alongside D.Va’s MEKA Squad teammate D.Mon. The update pairs a new Tank hero with a long list of balance changes, a new competitive rank, three reworked maps, and a rebuilt Battle Pass. Here is what changed and when the timed events run.
Quick answer: D.Mon is Overwatch’s 53rd hero and a new Tank. Download the August 11, 2026 patch, and you will find her in the Tank roster, three revamped maps (Busan, Paraíso, Eichenwalde), a new Emerald skill tier, and a Battle Pass that lets you pick which Legendary skin to chase first. You can review the full changes on the official Overwatch patch notes page.
D.Mon, the new Tank hero
D.Mon is Yuna Lee, a MEKA pilot who fights from inside her mech, Beast. She plays like a blend of D.Va and Reinhardt, using a classic sword-and-board design that lets her lead from the front while staying survivable.
Her kit centers on close-range pressure and protection. She swings a Plasma Saber up front, raises a Power Barrier to soak damage for the team, moves with Propulsors, and switches to a Fusion Repeater when she needs range. She is built to be strongest when the whole team advances with her.

Competitive updates: Emerald rank and Team Drives
A new skill tier called Emerald now sits between Platinum and Diamond. The redistribution mainly moves players who were Platinum or Diamond into Emerald, and it makes the highest Champion divisions more exclusive. Emerald titles and weapon charms were added too, and a new Rank Distribution Indicator on the Competitive Overview shows how your rank compares to everyone else in a given queue.
Team Drives are a new experimental event. Winning a match automatically groups you with the other winning players, and each consecutive win as a team grants a growing Fame bonus that pushes you up the Gladiator Ranks. A Team Drive is completed by passing The Trail, which requires winning 3 of your last 4 matches. You can turn off auto-grouping under Social → General → Groups, but completing the event solo is much harder.
The first Team Drive runs from September 4 at 11 AM PT to September 7 at 11 AM PT, in the days before the mid-season patch. The first 10,000 players to finish it unlock a temporary dynamic title marking the order they completed it in. High-rank Challenger scores were also increased, ranging up to Champion 1 rising from 700 to 900.
Battle Pass revamp
The Battle Pass no longer forces a fixed, linear order. After finishing an introductory track, you choose which Legendary skin to pursue first and can switch tracks anytime. Premium owners also get a one-time Tier Hack to swap an eligible Legendary reward for another curated cosmetic from the seasonal Swap Pool.

Coming mid-season, Unvaulted Passes will let you catch up on rewards from select past Battle Passes. Once you pick one up, or if you already owned the original, it stays permanently available so you can progress it alongside the current season on your own schedule.
Map reworks: Busan, Paraíso, and Eichenwalde
Three returning maps got visual and layout refreshes. Busan now shows the aftermath of the Junker assault and Talon’s attack on the MEKA base, with damaged streets, burning wreckage, fresh graffiti, and repairs across the city. You can even step inside D.Mon’s room to see her weapon collection, posters, plushies, and the mech upgrade room first teased in Season 3.
Paraíso is dressed up for a celebration even as a giant Domina statue looms over the city. Lúcio has upgraded Clube Sinestesia with music, frogs, a dance floor, and a DJ booth, plus an interactive surprise that only appears if you play as Lúcio. New routes, shortcuts, and high-ground access around Points A and B open up its tighter choke points.
Eichenwalde adds new routes and traversal options built around flow. A new path breaks through the first choke, including a small piano shop that hands attackers the high ground, while keeping the map’s classic feel intact.
Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania and World Cup Cheer Rally
Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania is a popularity-contest event inspired by Korean variety game shows. Choose a MEKA Squad pilot, complete their reward pass for themed cosmetics and loot boxes, and every completed pass casts one vote to push your favorite up the global rankings. Finishing all five pilot passes unlocks a bonus sixth pass, and every participant receives a Player Card featuring the pilot with the most votes. The event runs from August 11 to 31.
The World Cup Cheer Rally follows from September 1 to 14. Play matches to earn Cheers through challenges, then back your conference of choice, AMER, ASIA, or EMEA. The conference with the most Cheers is declared the global winner and unlocks a themed weapon charm for everyone who took part.
General and quality-of-life changes
A batch of in-combat feedback tools arrived to make fights easier to read. A Team Status Indicator above the Kill Feed counts living teammates and enemies and shows respawn progress for allies. A new Protects stat tracks when you mitigate significant damage near a teammate, and the Saves stat now counts more situations, including clutch overhealth. Multi-kill celebrations, a percentage-damage indicator, and clearer healing and status visuals round out the HUD updates.
The ping system got a technical refactor that makes it roughly 1.5x more efficient on average and up to 30x more efficient in edge cases while using less memory. Movie players, including the narrative viewer, can now seek and remember your progress. The Daily Challenge “Untouchable” now needs 5 eliminations instead of 10, and the Saves Daily Challenge dropped from 12 to 10.
Mythic Genji skin and Sojourn weapon
Season 4 adds a Mythic skin for Genji, the Koi of Duality, that unlocks across four levels. Level 1 sets the base look, Level 2 adds hairstyle options including an updo and two longer styles, Level 3 unlocks additional colorways, and Level 4 surrounds Genji with luminous koi to complete the design.

Sojourn gets a Mythic weapon skin, Eternal Crystal, that also has four levels. Level 1 is the base crystal-and-gilded form, Level 2 reacts to eliminations as the barrel fractures and lightning builds, Level 3 unlocks two Flourish animations tied to holding reload, and Level 4 adds a crystalline kill effect that shatters around defeated enemies.

With D.Mon in the roster, three maps reworked, and a rebuilt Battle Pass, Season 4 is worth updating for now, then keep an eye out for the mid-season patch that brings Unvaulted Passes and the first Team Drive results in early September.
