Palia: How to Find Muujimothy and Get the Muujimothy Plush

Where the rare Muujin variant spawns in Bahari Bay and which version actually drops the plush.

Where the rare Muujin variant spawns in Bahari Bay and which version actually drops the plush.

Muujimothy is a rare Easter egg creature in Palia, a special variant of the tree-dwelling Muujin that turned a running joke into an actual thing you can hunt. It roams the northern reaches of Bahari Bay, it is easy to walk right past, and it can reward you with a Muujimothy Plush if you take it down under the right conditions.

Quick answer: Search the upper north end of Bahari Bay near The Outskirts and Thorny Thicket (quadrants D2, C3, E2, F3, and C2), spot the smaller, short-tailed Muujin, and hunt the Bluebristle variant, since the Muujimothy Plush only drops from that version.

Where Muujimothy spawns in Bahari Bay

Muujimothy sticks to the upper northern part of Bahari Bay, in the general area around The Outskirts and Thorny Thicket. It can appear anywhere regular Muujin wander, but it shows up far less often, so location and patience both matter. These map quadrants give you the best odds.

QuadrantArea notes
D2Core search zone near The Outskirts / Thorny Thicket
C3Reliable spot for repeat sightings
E2Northern edge of the bay
F3Eastern side of the upper stretch
C2Western side of the upper stretch

There is no fixed guaranteed spawn. Finding one comes down to random chance, so expect to sweep the same quadrants more than once.

How to tell Muujimothy apart from a regular Muujin

Muujimothy is a smaller, shorter-spined, and shorter-tailed version of a standard Muujin, and it moves with a slightly different walk. When you are traveling fast it blends in with ordinary Muujin, so it is very easy to miss if you are not scanning carefully. Slow down and study any Muujin that looks a little off in size or gait.

Which Muujimothy drops the plush

Muujimothy appears in all Muujin variants, including the classic Muujin, the Banded Muujin, and the Bluebristle Muujin. The Muujimothy Plush, however, only seems to drop from the Bluebristle variant. If you take down a classic or Banded Muujimothy and get nothing, that is expected, so keep hunting until you find a Bluebristle one.

Note: The plush is a rare drop even from the correct variant, so a single Bluebristle kill will not guarantee it. Plan on repeat attempts.

How to flush out and take down Muujimothy

Muujimothy is fast, agile, and often hidden, which makes both finding and defeating it tricky. These methods make the process far more reliable.

Chop down trees in the target quadrants. Muujimothy frequently hides inside trees, so head to the Thorny Thicket area and start felling trees when you do not see one walking around. A chopped tree often startles it into the open.
Stand still and scan with your camera. Like regular Muujin, movement spooks Muujimothy into running. Stop moving, pan the camera slowly, and check your surroundings closely, since the creature is small and blends in.
Chase it into a tree if you spot one loose. Because it moves so quickly, deliberately herding it toward a tree traps it. Share the location in chat, then chop the tree down to make it much easier to bring the creature down.
Hunt with a party. Muujimothy is popular, so you will likely see other players sweeping the northern bay at the same time. Teaming up makes tracking and defeating it far quicker than going solo, and it improves everyone’s odds of landing the plush.

What the Muujimothy Plush is and where to trade it

The Muujimothy Plush is a Decor item you can place on your Housing Plot, in line with the other Muujin plushies. Like every plush in the game, it can be exchanged with other players at a Plushie Trading Kiosk in The Underground, which is worth knowing if the drop keeps eluding you and you would rather trade for one.

You will know the hunt worked when the plush lands in your inventory after defeating a Bluebristle Muujimothy. Until then, rotate through the D2, C3, E2, F3, and C2 quadrants, keep an eye out for the smaller silhouette, and prioritize the Bluebristle variant every time it appears.
